people are to quick to overlook the fact that we're adding an all star caliber player to our offense this year. GH is versatile as hell as a 3 position player. He's an excellent decision maker in the pick and roll and his midrange game is elite. That right there adds a whole new dimension to Brad Stevens offense.

here's GH's highlights against the Warriors in the 2017 playoffs in case you forgot how fundamentally sound and collected this guy is. Most of his points here are coming against Klay and Durant, two excellent defenders.
I couldn't be more excited for late October. Run it back!

TP.
What a beautiful stroke.
Let’s the game come to him.
Can’t wait for his return.
-
Such a beautiful game that GH has.
Him, Big Al and even Marcus Smart can give us SO MANY different options....
We are getting rather close to Brad Stevens' goal of "Positionless Basketball"...

Hayward will be such a blessing in half court offensive sets. He plays so slowly and carefully, very high bbiq, doesn't force anything he doesn't have to. Shoots well off curls and screens, can hit the contested mid-range shots Morris loves so much, versatile on both offense and defense, more than capable passer.
He has a very adaptable game. Doesn't seem like the kind of player who always wants to "get his". C's are lucky to have him back.

I look at the starting line up of horford, hayward, irving, tatum, and brown and have to smile. all five are outstanding scorers and as a unit their defense will be solid.
even with not real shooters coming off the bench, CBS can stagger resting to make sure at least one or two of this group is on the floor all the time.
so, when does the season begin???? ;D

TP for the beautiful video. What a reminder. Let's pray for good health across the roster!
-
Think if Hayward as a more assertive Tatum.
-
He needs to get healthy. Very healthy.

Dude has power, under-rated passing ability and defense...not even talking about his scoring and shooting.
Dude even blocked a couple of OUR shots back-back in one sequence.
He places several players in posters in this video.
Loved his full-court pass to Favors for the buzzer beater.
He has a much cooler haircut now, as well.
I expect GREAT things out of him for the next 10 years in BOS. He will take SO MUCH pressure off of our offense and will add to our defense.
-
This guy has such a controlled game. He's going to be a great fit in this offense. I just hope he's 100% healthy.
-
A nightmare scenario for our opponents next season -
A Gordon Hayward-led fast break with Tatum and Brown on the wings LOL.........

I think some people are also overlooking the fact that none of us know exactly how well he will play after missing a year. Hayward isn’t old but he is not a kid either in basketball terms. I think it is a mistake to assume he will just go back to playing like he did in 2016.

Very good point. I wouldn't be surprised if he's a 14-17 ppg scorer for Boston this year.

Yes the return two. star s ...
will make a difference ,
TWO guys with offense.
-
I'm a HUGE Hayward fan he will probably be our best passer among other things. Supser excited to have him back!

Yeah, when Jordan first came back he was rusty and he didn't have a major injury.
Hayward fortunately doesn't use athleticism much to score, he doesn't jump high on his jump shot, and he plays at a slow pace and uses openings to get his shots off.
He's suppose to be able to go full speed at the end of July, gives him a couple months to get up to speed. I wont be surprised if it still takes a couple more months to be normal. Last thing to come back is lateral movement, so his D might be a bit weaker than it use to be. Good News is that PG13 came back from a similar injury, Haywards was better when it comes to best case to come back from this.
Whay we might see is a better shooting Hayward, and some one who plays the game better because of all the film Stevens made him break down.
