Title: Target a Sacramento big
Post by: konkmv on June 23, 2018, 11:34:18 AM
I think sac will have to sell someone.. koufos skai Stein Giles and Bagley... too many... would you give up the next years boston pick for Stein or skai?

I think we’re okay with bigs if we bring back Baynes.

Horford, Baynes, Theis, Williams, Semi, Yabu, Morris and Tatum can all play either the 4 or 5.

Not now that we have Williams.

I like Theis better than all of those guys too.

I like Yabu's potential as well and don't wanna take any minutes from him either.

We also have Baynes and Morris.

And we will play small quite a bit.

I don't think there is any room and I don't think any of those guys are worth trading for.

Can we ban all further trade ideas for the next, I don't know, year?

This team is stacked, let's run it back.

With the caveat that trade ideas involving Yabu and Nader are perfectly acceptable and encouraged.

The pick would be worth more to sac than any other team.  Tank control would give them another great shot at a top 5.

I still have some hope for Yabu, but addition of Williams will soften the blow if he gets traded.

Stein Williams baynes Horford Morris theis is a good frontline.. ojeleje Tatum Hayward good forward combination... smart rozier irwing Brown and 2 more at guards
I do not think yabu will be a quality player

If we lose Baynes, I would be happy bringing in Skal using our pick next year. He has two years left on his contract and (like Williams) makes almost nothing and at one point was very highly regarded.

Since Al will likely start at the 5 next season, it won’t be as essential to have that starting level big. I trust Theis enough in the bench role. Hopefully one of Skal or Williams would really work out.

The Sac pick is worth a good deal more to the Kings than to anyone else.   Being in control of their "tank" would be worth paying a higher price.  Not sure which of their bigs I'd want.

Agreed on all counts, but Baynes is not signed yet.  Assuming he does, I like our 4/5 depth as is.
Horford, Baynes, Theis, Williams, Semi, Yabu, Morris and Tatum

Keep the asset(s).

If we bring our guys back this is not needed.  We alos want SAC to have issues next year to maximize that pick's value.

He has played a total of 230 NBA minutes. Not everyone is Tatum coming out of the gate. A lot of players need time and minutes to develop. A number of players don't even contribute until their 3rd year in the league. Some players bounce around with a few teams before finding themselves.

So you only want to trade guys you have no hope for?  What would you like in return, some preparation H or something?

We can trade guys that we value as long as we get value in return.  Guys that suck get cut, not traded.

Not with teams approaching the tax. Rather, teams pay other teams (via cash, picks) to take contracts off their hands.

I have no interest in any of their bigs, unless we lose Baynes and trade Morris for a smaller player, or something that similarly hurts our depth

Outside of Bagley, the King's bigs are pretty darn atrocious.

http://www.espn.com/nba/team/stats/_/name/sac/sacramento-kings

Big Papa is a best.

Their leading big scorer at 14.5 ppg is Zebo.

Their leading rebounder at 7.0 rpg is Cauley-Stein.

Their leading big shotblocker at .92 per game is Cauley-Stein.
