Title: Celtics themed basketball court opened in the Philippines.

A congressman in the city of Valenzuela (about 2 hours from Manila) is a big Celtics fan, and he spearheaded the project.

Awesome stuff. As a Filipino and a proud Celtics fan, I could not be more happy and proud of this.

Wish Korea would do something this cool. I would visit everyday.  :-\ :P

TP for sharing.

Looks beautiful, and mmmmmmm the look of green makes me sorely envious!

Major must be a huge fan of Paul Pierce/Bird.

Their fat heads and images look the biggest with the exception of Russell, who's a Celtic GOAT in my book.

He also opened a much more public, street level court with Kyrie Irving's image painted on the ground in the same city.

This rep. is a huge Celtics fan.

Kyrie Irving might say something about how fat and short his face looks lol.

Quote
"My hair, man," Irving answered. "They gave me like I was losing my hair, the back of my hair. I was like, 'Bro, I'm not losing my hair.'"

Kyrie also recalled being frustrated with the game initially listing him as a 90 overall.

"They also completely disrespected me in terms of giving me a 90," Irving said. "I was just like, 'Bro, how am I gonna be the cover athlete and I'm a 90?'"

And also not surprised, Phillipines ranked 2nd in 2015 in Twitter followers.

Quote
Most likely, that would not have been the case. Yet, as the Celtics’ Twitter account briefly tweeted on Monday morning (it appears the original tweet was deleted), that’s exactly the case.

According to a chart from Tweeps Map, the highest percentage of Celtics followers by country goes like this:

    United States: 56.4 percent
    Philippines: 4.37 percent
    United Kingdom: 3.05 percent
    Brazil: 2.88 percent
    Canada: 2.08 percent

The pleasant surprise of this list has to be the Philippines ranking second overall. Given that the Celtics have 1.7 million Twitter followers, we can establish that approximately 74,290 of those people live in the Philippines. It’s a slightly staggering statistic, and one that offers no immediate explanation.

When I saw the headline I figured Manny Pacquioa.  Isn't he a celtic supporter, or am I mis-remembering?

He's kind of a bandwagoner. He hung out with the Warriors not far back.

The gym I play at has a parquet floor and green trim. It looks like the Boston Garden.

The first time I walked in, I could not believe it.

Hope Kyrie sees this.

Celtics Pride runs DEEP. You're either with us or against us.

It's his choice ultimately but IMO he'd be foolish to leave BOS.

First online poker, then Manny Pacquiao, and now this? Love the Philippines.
