A congressman in the city of Valenzuela (about 2 hours from Manila) is a big Celtics fan, and he spearheaded the project.

Most likely, that would not have been the case. Yet, as the Celtics’ Twitter account briefly tweeted on Monday morning (it appears the original tweet was deleted), that’s exactly the case.
According to a chart from Tweeps Map, the highest percentage of Celtics followers by country goes like this:
United States: 56.4 percent
Philippines: 4.37 percent
United Kingdom: 3.05 percent
Brazil: 2.88 percent
Canada: 2.08 percent
The pleasant surprise of this list has to be the Philippines ranking second overall. Given that the Celtics have 1.7 million Twitter followers, we can establish that approximately 74,290 of those people live in the Philippines. It’s a slightly staggering statistic, and one that offers no immediate explanation.

He's kind of a bandwagoner. He hung out with the Warriors not far back.

The gym I play at has a parquet floor and green trim. It looks like the Boston Garden.
