Trying to hurt another player intentionally and not being tossed from a game is BS. This is the same guy that cheap shotted Crowder. He needs to be suspended.
-
That should be changed to a flagrant 2 and suspension.
-
That’s what the flagrant 2 is for. They didn’t call it like cowards
So now Jr Smith gets to come back and do it again. This thing is rigged to help LeBron as much as possible
-
I agree, but his p--- poor play has really helped the Celtics out in this series.
If any suspension takes place, it should be for next season.
-
this is the 2nd time he did this to us, first time against Crowder, this guy has a history against the Celtics, get him out of here! suspend him for a game or something
-
JR’s a chump for that play

Actually, its the third. This was the first.

Lue sent him in to make that goon play!
-
What they need to do is not call fouls on Smart for telling JR about natural consequences

o yea they just announced that too on TV, man i'm tired of this guy
-
Third time. This is why we should have a goon at the end of the bench imo.
-
He should have been ejected. Thing is though, we are better off when he's in the game.

Lue sent him in for that cheap shot but it backfired big time!

JR's greatest hits ::)

Yes, unless he takes someone out! If Al got hurt on that play and was out of the playoffs, it would be a really big deal!
-
Celtics to sign petition to keep JR playing ...lol

He's a cheap goon. # 7 looks familiar! That's what you do when you don't have talent. We can't afford to loose any more players!
-
Still remember the backhand swipe at Crowder last season
He should have been suspended 10 games for that
Can people believe this goon is making 15 million per season

15 million for zero points and no effort.

If Smart doesn't make a big deal about do you think that the refs even call the flagrant one? I watched it again and I don't think they would've.
-
The best thing about that whole thing was Smart getting in Smith's face. I freaking loved that. Smart is so totally a celtic, you can't even doubt it. Games like tonight are what smart is made for.
Smith totally should have been ejected for what he did. I mean a few years ago Bynum was ejected from a game with the mavs for a similar cheap shot. Bynum's may have been worse, but both were deserving of ejection.

The CAVS already hurt one of our players this year isn't that enough?

agreed. The refs whistle didn’t even go off. The whole thing is fixed. We might see some ugly calls on the road

Warring this post has been made up the effect of abien. Take it as you will: The Cavs were sure expecting a bunch more calls this game and were surprised every time they got called on them. Tatum got hammered to that layup attempt and thought he was fouled but Smart knows that in the playoffs you can count of any kind of whistles go for so he grabbed the ball a put it back. You can't wait for the refs you have to grab it my the balls and put that ball in the hole!

"Smith said there was no malicious intent on the play.
''I blatantly pushed him. It wasn't like I was trying to low bridge him or something. Just make sure he didn't get it,'' Smith said. ''It was a good, hard foul.'' "
oh please, a shove in the back when a guy is midair is not a 'good hard foul'
f u JR.
We should have Smart, Baynes, Semi, or Yabu give him one those as he goes in to score, if he ever goes in and scores. It might be a long wait

That’s even scarier than the foul itself.
For an NBA player to admit to blatantly pushing an airborne player and thinking that’s a good foul is actually disturbing.
The NBA should upgrade it to a flagrant-2 and fine him for his idiocy in justifying it.

Has he read the rulebook? Like, the flagrant foul part?

Have the officials? Like, even the introduction thereof, because I have my doubts, to put it mildly, lol.
-
Formally, he should get punished by the NBA. On the other hand, his play is really hurting the Cavs - and his bad attitude as well - so I'm definitely not going to lose sleep if the NBA decides not to punish him by giving him a suspension.
-

he seems to be proud of that foul instead of remorseful. He’s a piece of trash
-
Based on the play he should have been ejected.
Based on his answers to questions about it he should be suspended. If he isn't I'll be shocked if he doesn't attempt a similar "good hard foul" before this series is over.
-
Let's hope they suspend him at the start of next year because he's too valuable for the celtics right now.
-
I think without the League doing more some player, some day, is going to give it back to Smith and hard. It is negligent for the League to fail to address J.R. Smith's dangerous play both because (1) it IS dangerous and (2) a player or players may take it upon themselves to deal with Smith themselves in the absence of the League teaching Smith a lesson.
-
Why did Smart get a tech on this play? Smart was just talking and JR starts pushing him. The double tech is the worse call in basketball. Well, maybe not the worse but it's a weak call. JR should've already been tossed by the time the double tech takes place.

Walked up and confronting an opposing player verbally in an aggressive manner usually warrants a tech, especially when it results in shoves and a scrum.
Fortunately the Cavs separated Marcus and JR lol.

But JR Smith actually pushed Smart and he gets the same tech as Smart talking? Smart needs to get his monies worth next time.

Per Woj, he won't be suspended by the NBA:
@wojespn: The NBA will not discipline Cleveland's JR Smith for the foul on Boston's Al Horford in Game 2 of Eastern Conference Finals, league source tells ESPN.

Wait until you see the physicality of game 3 in Cleveland.
JR Thug with the home court on his side, in what could be the last games they see LeBron at home in Cleveland. I hope the refs show some balls...but somehow I doubt it.
This game is going 6 or 7 games if it kills every player on the Boston Celtics. I just hope nobody gets injured.

Didn't Yabu used to be a boxer maybe he should have a word with JR. Where's Dave Cowens when you need him?
