When did Celtics fans become such defeatist losers?
first, what the heck are those glass/cup things supposed to be???
second, what the heck is that starting line up for the celtics supposed to be??? :P
man, that line up for the celtics makes me want to start drinking even if i only have bizarre little glass/cup thingys to hold the alcohol. sigh.
what the heck, a real, starter quality tp for flc for her real, starter quality game thread.
oh, and gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo celtics....i guess. :-\
I like how Shane Larkin is mentioned as both a starter and a reserve, while he's also on minutes restriction. Tells you all you need to know about how laughably bad the injury situation is...It's been a full time job just trying to keep up with the injury list for this game. I swapped Larkin from the reserves to starting and forgot to take him off the reserves. Truthfully I have no idea who will start.
Brad Stevens should be handed the COY award at the end of the game if we somehow manage to win this.
Horford is now listed as OUT, and Tatum is PROBABLE with low back tightness lolI agree, give the other young guys some minutes instead, as we are probably not going to win even with Tatum playing. There's really no reason to run the risk of aggravating the injury.
This is laughable. No reason to even play Tatum at this point. Why risk it?

Is this verified? I'm pretty hyped to see what Yabu can do with a little longer leash. Unfortunately, he is going against a pretty savvy big in the other Morris twin.

It came from Sean Grande. Sherrod Blakely also posted same thing. So it is verified I would think.
Good job by Yabu on D there.
Not worried if we win this game or not... I just want to see Tatum go into alpha mode

I like Larkin.I LOVE larkin.
Their Morris caught fire, that's what got them back into the game.

No, our Morris started doing the iso thing, missed shots and their Morris is backing down ours into the paint for easy 5-10' shots. MM is on a head trip right now...and he's losing.
How is it so far? Confident for a win?

Their Morris hit several outside shots, including a 3 pointer. Both Morris' were doing the iso thing, it worked for theirs, not so much for ours.
Yabs showing good hustle to come back on their Morris to deny the layup.

100% this. He seems too intimidated to shoot the 3 too. Very hesitant, clearly had several open chances or looks.
But man Rozier and Yabusele look great tonight.

At the beginning, I agree. He passed up shots outside the 3 point line he would ordinarily take with the Red Claws but made good crisp passes to teammates who were open and made shots. He loosened up a bit after drawing a foul early in the game and as his time on the court increases, I think he's got an honest to god shot of being a player in this league.
Probably shouldn't have Nader cover Beal
That open 3 by Beal is at least the 2nd or 3rd time Tatum has been late to cover an open man. He has to pick up the intensity on both ends of the court.

I mean, what do you expect? He's playing out of position at the 2. He's a combo 3/4 that is more than likely going to find his long-term home at the 4. He simply doesn't have the foot speed to keep up with 2 guards, even though he always gets caught on them out on the perimeter somehow.
Wow moving screen called on Gortat! Give this crew a gold metal
How many times will Tatum go in for that underhanded layup that gets blocked before he (and the coaching staff) break him of that bad habit??? ::)

Do you really believe that?
I've been impressed with how mobile and agile Tatum is for his size.
Interesting strategy by Brad to go with Larkin and Rozier at the same time, given that they might legitimately be the only true guards on the roster right now. Looks to be working so far.

Wait until he perfects the move. :)
So... why is the strategy not give the ball to Monroe and watch him eat Mahinmi alive in the post on every trip?
I know he’s a rookie, but Tatum needs to be assertive. Tonight he gets to show why he can be option #1 at some point in his career.
At least heart doesn't get injured.
Who's going to be our closer...Either Morris or Rozier. Tatum is not yet ready
Tatum is just cold!Who's going to be our closer...Either Morris or Rozier. Tatum is not yet ready

Ugh, Tatum.
What the F Rozier... Stop trying to freaking dribble through that!!
Wow they’re trying to get rozier on a 8 sec violationcan they do that on a replay ?
I haven’t seen an 8 second violation in a long time

Not loving using the final timeout. If Washington ties or takes the lead, we won't have any real shot at the end. Wish Tatum made both FTs - he has been okay, but sorta iffy game from him.
Beal got an easy look bc Rozier bit on the fake. Has to know the game situation. 2 meant nothing.

He has more holes in his game than we want to admit. They're exposed when he's forced to play a major role in the offense like this.
He'll grow though.
why didn't they foul there?????

Can they survive 5 more minutes of this... Let's go Celtics!
Had Mauer called it correctly on the out of bounds and given us the ball that doesn't happen. That being said, WHY LEAVE THE 3 POINT SHOOTER OPEN!?!?
Morris has been unreal on offense tonight but the ONE mistake he makes could cost us this game.

Stevens, if we lose, cost us this game.

Absolutely. Dude is sitting on his freaking hands down the stretch here. He's now made two terribly poor decisions that have led to major points for Washington.
If we get average games from either Tatum or Rozier, we win this game.
You’ve got to be able to execute an inbounds play.
Game over.
This team missed Kyrie Irving, Al Horford, and Marcus Smart real bad tonight.
Get to the rim and try to draw a foul
TATTUUUMMMMM!finish with double overtime lol
IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW YOU START, BUT HOW YOU FINISH! ;D
Clutch Tatum
that’s what I’m talking about!
WHAT ROOKIE MISTAKES?!
Tatum giveth and taketh away.
Tatum giveth Tatum taketh away. >:( >:( >:(
Gortat with a blatant moving screen. I mean it's just so pronounced I don't know how you don't call it.

Tatum wants the ball when it matters. The problem is it's usually a turnover or missed FTs this season.
So tired of losing tight games. Have to finish. Just gave this game awayBlame Stevens

Missing 60% of your offense was not the reason they lost. Calling a time out or a foul down the stretch would have won them the game in regulation. So tired of losing tight games. Have to finish. Just gave this game awayBlame Stevens
Missing 60+% of our offense has nothing to do with it though??

Team is going to finish in third place. Can’t win close games
WE HAVE TWO EFFING TIMEOUTS, AND BRAD SITS ON HIS FREAKING HANDS ONCE AGAIN AND LOSES US THIS GAME SETTLING FOR A PULL-UP THREE!
I'm about fed up with Brad's terrible decision-making down the stretch. Dude is so overrated, especially on this blog.
What the hell is his problem?! That's three HUGE decisions that he's blown tonight that cost us the game.

How does a game where we don't have kyrie, Jaylen, Al, Marcus and Theis = anything about where we end up.

More like “Can’t win close games without Kyrie, Horford, Brown, Smart and Theis”.

Yeah you care way too much about this game. C's ran a bunch of end of the bench guys out there and lost because of dumb self imposed mistakes down the stretch.

Which is exactly what you expect when you’re relying on rookies and end of bench guys.
Going in, did you expect this lineup to compete tonight?

They made me care by making it close and competitive! lol
I mean, you can't really blame the players for this loss at all. I understand that. Yeah, Tatum had some dumb plays down the stretch, and he probably should be expected to make his free throws. He's also a rookie.
But that inexplicably bad coaching down the stretch is inexcusable. It's so bad that I really do wonder if this was a blatant tank job by Brad. A coach supposedly as smart as him doesn't make three major errors in decision-making like that down the stretch.
Still think we can win the #1 seed?
Who was thinking that after all the injuries yesterday?
Such a tough loss.
Morris played a great game, but leaving Meeks wide open in the corner was completely inexcusable. Let them have the layup, they had no timeouts left. And then Tatum missing the free throw to win it.
Yes, happy with the effort and nobody expected us to win tonight but we had this game, twice.
I’m ok with second place as long as Indy stays in 3rd. Let Washington and Cleveland battle it out and winner gets Toronto. If we fast forward a month and the seeds stay exactly the same, I won’t complain.
Just gotta get healthy.
Yabusele had 5 assists in 18 minutes.
He should have played more. I felt we lost our rebounding edge when he wasn’t in the game.

Why do we want Indy when we cant beat them this year. No one can stop Lebron-lite Oladipo and since Smart is also a scratch for the POs, we can be toasted by those Hicokry basketball team, they have supreme confidence over us right now.

we were playing without horford, Irving, brown (starters) and smart and Theis both quality rotation players.
Great job by Stevens and the "next guy up"

If only we played this way all the time...
Still baffled how you leave the three point shooter up 3 to contest a layup. SMH. Know the situation.

He had only 3 rebounds so that is highly unlikely.

That play should have never happened. I'm still baffled as to how they gave Washington the ball after the instant replay with 5 seconds remaining in the game. The ball was clearly hit last by the Washington player. I can't see how it was even debatable.
