Sources: Boston forward Marcus Morris is expected to miss extended time as he and the team work on solution for nagging left knee.
-
Is it just me or did Detroit trade the Celtics damaged goods? Why is there not more talk about the C’s getting fleeced?
-
Probably for the best.
Marcus is a polarizing player, but he'll be important come playoff time as a bench scorer. Rest him as much as necessary in December, January, and February now that the team has banked quite a few wins.
Jaylen, Jayson, Semi, and perhaps Nader will all get more time. Probably some more minutes for Theis, as well.
Marcus has bailed the second unit out of some spots with his individual scoring. Could be an issue, but the team can afford some such issues.

We got fleeced anyway even if morris was fighting fit.
-
Morris is an average player, but we need him considering the lack of talent we have at the end of the roster.

no we didnt, especially if you consider the reason the deal was made is to make room for Hayward. we got two quality players for letting avery leave a year early

Because the Celtics passed his physical. There was about a week between when the trade was rumored an announced — most of that time was waiting on his physical.
Also because a healthy Morris on a healthy Celtics is probably the 7th man in the rotation, and people tend to not get worked up about non-key players making less than 5% of the team’s payroll. Especially when the team has the best record in the league. Morris is clearly not a critical player.
I expect to see him return on either 1/11 or 1/16, unless he needs surgery instead of rest and PT.
-
When I hear the words "working on a solution" I feel that he's likely going to go under the knife.
-
We will miss his scoring for the 2nd unit, especially on nights when Terry and Marcus Smart are heaving bricks.
-
Who's the next man up? Yabusele?

They ve never even said WHY his knee is sore . Surely with 100's years modern medicine , we know all the parts , and 1000's of sports injuries to that area ......
and no one can even make a ...diagnosis with a 100 Harvard Doctors ?
YABU .......Willing and ABLE ..!

What's the word on Avery? Are Detroit going to pay him?
-
It's not too late to tank...
-
Detroit fleeced us. Morris had been sitting all summerq

Willing to bet he gets arthroscopic surgery

You'd be betting against salty -- a game no one has ever won.
-
We need him healthy for end of season.
More minutes for Theis is fine by me. Nader has regressed imo

Not this time, I said surgery was a possibiiity. 1/11 or 1/16 if no surgery.
I hope you start feeling better soon.

Ah sorry, missed that. And thanks. Apparently it's the season for injury.

I prefer the youth movement. Don't know if Marcus has totally bought in....

Abdel Nader should not be on an NBA basketball court.

celtics really need to get some scoring off the bench. would be nice to use that DPE. but I am wondering if they are waiting for buyouts

aka last night

I think most people expected him to be in jail right now so just being injured is a big plus.

He was absolutely driving me nuts last night.

Very disappointing. I'll vomit if I have to watch Smart jack up more shots.
