Title: A fun stat...
Post by: crimson_stallion on December 07, 2017, 07:13:04 AM
Just thought I would throw this fun little stat out there...

Between the three of them so far this season, Jayson Tatum, Kyrie Irving and Al Horford are averaging a combined:

- 51.8 PPG (on 51.0% / 43.3% / 83.8% shooting)
- 16.6 RPG
- 11.6 APG
- 3.08 SPG
- 2.2 BLK

How's that for a nice efficient little trio! :D

That’s like Wilt in one season. ;)

Except maybe the threes, assists and free throws - but otherwise pretty much haha

I'm not sure stats tell the whole story - as I'm sure there are a lot of trios around the league that put up gaudier numbers - but those percentages are great and you sure can't say anything about the Cs record.

Man, I hope Hayward can make it back this season...

It's not the raw numbers that amaze me, it's the fact that they are putting up those raw numbers at THOSE percentages.  That's mind boggling.

If you looked up all the teams in the NBA right now (even all the teams in NBA history), I don't think you'd find many trios who have ever put up 52 PPG on 51% / 43% / 84% shooting.  Aside from the obvious Steph/Klay/KD trio from last season (which is pretty darn impressive company) I doubt there would be many.  It's really quite incredible.

Scary part is that Jaylen Brown's free throw percentage is the only thing stopping that from being a four man group averaging those kind of percentages.  Crazy.
