Title: Moving on to the 2019 draft, I'm done dreaming of the 2018 draft
Post by: OldSchoolDude on November 24, 2017, 12:14:25 PM
The Lakers are playing so much better than I thought they would, so I don't see how their pick conveys this year. I would love to have one of Ayton, Bagley, or Bamba but that's looking like a pipe dream now.
With that said I'm moving on to the Sacramento Kings pick in 2019 and my target for that draft is Bol Bol.

7'2 Bol Bol is a CHEAT CODE!! Official EYBL Mixtape! Best Player in the Country?!?

I'm in the camp that says the Lakers depending upon 2 rookies as key contributors will come back to bite them later in the season.  Still hope for pick 2 through 5.

A team that loses from sac is bad.... but there are other bad teams too... I say both them and the nets are bottom 10 teams... I say 30% this year 70 next

I think it's a little ridiculous to give up on the 2018 draft. We aren't even 20 games into the season yet. Even halfway into the season we won't know exactly where we will be. Anything can change. The Lakers are currently 9th worst. At 7th worst, we have "ok chances" of conveying the pick. I get the 2nd or 3rd pick  1 out of 10 rolls when they're 7th worst on tankathon. Things get real interesting when they're 6th, 5th, 4th worst.

The Lakers were 9-9 and finished as the 3rd worst team last year. Also, teams with the 5th to 9th worst record in the league regularly end up in the top three so there's always that chance. I am not ready to give up on the Lakers pick. Anything is still possible in this very young season.

I hope your right because there are three big men in this draft that I think could put us over the top but only one in the 2019 draft.

As long as they stay a bottom 10 team, their odds of jumping in the lottery are still pretty good. After all, they have pretty good luck in getting a higher slot than they deserve!
