What?!? You say? Lose one? When we're in the midst of a potentially historic win streak? You want them to LOSE?????
Well,. yeah, and on the road to one of these bottom-feeder teams. Why? Well, basically, because Jayson Tatum's walking around, a little voice in his head telling him, Hey, this NBA thing is actually kinda cool, like, you show up and start winning all the time.
Well, a road loss to the Mavs (or the Hawks, but that boat sailed spectacularly) would kinda remind the young guys that it ain't always a wash. Mind you, there are a few worse problems to have than overconfident youngsters, but just sayin'...

Aron Baynes: MIP
Jayson Tatum: ROY
Kyrie Irving: MVP
Boston Celtics: 2018 NBA Champions

Disagree completely. Win baby win.

I agree with that disagreement. Inconsistency, thy name is Robb....
-
Well, no need to worry: the team almost definitely will lose again this season.
But, if we cruise into the playoffs at 80-2, I’m sure the young guys will adjust.
-
Yeah. This is silly. They aren’t going 80-2, so this issue (if it is an issue) will resolve itself.

I disagree. They have been playing and been part of the comebacks game after game. They know the cost of these victories. Brown and Tatum are committed on D, and have been crucial during these games. Losing would teach them nothing. Win every game you can!
Sure, they have to quit digging holes and the offensive has been offensive at times.

I'm sure it's me as non native English speaker and I lack context or don't get the irony. Said that, I can't see the purpose or main message in this thread.
Just let the kids see it's not easy? They will learn it, for sure. But you learn things in a positive environment way way better, so let them win games and time will tell.

Right team, wrong player...my vote goes to Jaylen for MIP.

whuts you talk n bout Willard ? Have you lost your mind?
Loose one what ......?
Sully needs the lose pounds
Hayward needs to lose his cast
Lots of things people need to lose .
Games is NOT one of these items on my list.

No I don’t think you missed anything and your English is very good. My only quibble is that many of the most successful people say they learn more from failure than success, and I think I agree in regards to my own life. I think that’s what the OP was getting at.

This sort of thinking might make sense in the NFL, where a team could conceivably end the season on a big winning streak, face no real tests, and end up unprepared for a tough play-off game. But in the long NBA season it is guaranteed that a team will lose games. Even if they ended up winning 70 games, which I regard as wildly unrealistic, that would still mean they would lose 10 more games, I suspect it they will lose at least 20 more games, probably more, so I don't see the benefit of losing a game now. Win as many as you can.
-
And let me guess... when they lose that one, will you be the one leading the charge of the "Fire Ainge, Fire Stevens, trade everybody" brigade... :P
-
we don't need to lose one to right the ship or take anyone down a notch. this thought process boggles my mind. why?
we need to win every dam game if we can. hardship has already happened to our team losing hayward.

I'm from New England. What is this "lose" you are talking about?

Watch the up-and-down Bruins more often and you'll remember again

They'll lose one eventually so let's just put it off as long as possible. We can always learn Important Team Lessons in December.
That said after the emotion of the Warriors win I've kinda figured we'd drop one of these, and you can only spot teams so many double-digit leads. So I wouldn't be shocked if it happened anyway.
-
Meh.
Bank easy wins for as long as possible, as early as possible.
Plenty of time for pointless losses late in the year when they've locked in playoffs.

Bruins are doing a stealth rebuild though and they've got some great young kids.
-
I agree. For now I hope they keep surviving.
"And there is only one thing we say to <losing a game>: 'not today'."

I hope if we lose, we lose to a good team like the Spurs or the Bucks. But that being said, keep on winning!
-
How many games do the Celtics need to lose to make it as an 8th seed?
-
Havent we lost enough? 5 minutes into the season we were suddenly a bottom feeder tied for the worst record in the nba on a losing streak.. I am pretty sure the youth of this team saw real quick how things could change...
