Took Paul George about 18 months to be 100% again after a similar injury. He played before that but it took him a long time to get 100% again.
So we are looking at the all star break of next year before we see Gordon Hayward look 100% again. UGGGGHHH!!! :-\
I still think this team is good even without him. We can still be the 1 or 2 seed.

I think this is a little premature. We have no idea if it's similar to PG's injury in terms of its severity, etc.

yeah I'm just bummed. that sucked. Going over worse case scenarios in my head.
Minimum its a dislocated ankle.

Video on Celtics Gordon Hayward shoes ankle fracture dislocation. Good news: he will be back @ 100%. Bad news: likely done for the year.

I'm glad the prognosis is good. As for basketball, it still sucks.

This is great news. The only thing Gordon, the doctors, and the team should be concerned with is getting him back fully healthy no matter the time frame.

Dr. on NBC-Boston is MUCH MORE OPTIMISTIC. Thinks Hayward could be back playing as early as March.
Does not see this as season ending. 3-4 months.

TP for being the voice of reason, Roy.
I didn't see the play. When people started screaming COMPOUND FRACTURE I figured his tibia was poking out of his sock.
Sometimes I really hate the internet.

Who knows but the fact that it’s an ankle has me worried. PG broke his leg. I don’t believe there were any ligaments involved. In a lot of ways that is easier to come back from. An ankle possibly includes ligaments and I fear makes the situation worse.

I don't think any doctor can say that at this point which makes his comment unreliable..
A broken ankle is far more worse than a broken leg like PG's

What are you using to measure that time frame?
George got injured on 8/1/14 and was back on the floor on 4/5/15, that's about 8 months.
And he was definitely 100% by the start of the 15/16 season, which is about 15 months after the injury.
But since there were no games for George between 4/15/15 and 10/28/16, you really have no idea when he was back to 100%.
Might have been 8 months, might have been 15, definitely wasn't anywhere close to 18 which would be around the '16 All Star break. He averaged 30/8/4 in over November '15 (first full month back), if that's not 100% I don't know what is.

I was just thinking we could be well into next year before we see what this team looks like with a 100% Gordon Hayward.

With all due respect to the forum and respecting members' opinions: you have no idea what you're talking about. Paul George had compound fractures in tibia and fibula.

Paul George broke a different part of his leg. Just as scary but no one knows right now. Need to let the leg calm down and get a bunch of MRIs and scans done before the C's doctors will know. After they do we'll find out eventually.

18 months should be enough; if/once LeBron James bolt Cleveland and go to the West.
Also, the Warriors will be 1.5 year older thus their championship run could be running out of time.
But the Lakers, however...are going to be very dangerous with their Big 3 of Ball, Ingram, and Kuzma along with Randle and Brook Lopez.

15 seed in the west lol

I don't care how long it takes. Jest heal up 100% and don't rush anything. This whole thing just makes me sick.

Lol don't disrespect their talent but they will come together to become something big in 1.5 more years, and the Warriors declining. That young core.

I don't think he ever quite got back to where he was pre-injury. He's probably 90-95% of that though.
