The blockbuster trade between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics may be on hold.
According to a report from ESPN.com's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Cavaliers are "still evaluating" Thomas' injured hip following Friday's physical and and are "weighing options" with regard to the completion of the deal that would send Kyrie Irving to the Boston Celtics.

Thomas traveled to Cleveland, took exam and flew back out of town, sources said. All players must pass physical, or a deal can be voided

As one source involved in the process involving Thomas' medical clearance told ESPN late Friday night, "It's a very sensitive situation."
Now I've made it known that I DON'T like this deal as we overpayed dearly, but this looks pretty serious. Yeah it's standard procedure with physicals and all, but Isaiah's hip may be a legitimate concern.
Feel confused how to feel about all this honestly.
Does this mean all two of Isaiah's jerseys need to get un-burned lol?

While it may not be best long-term, I want the trade to fall through just to see IT have a 40ppg season.

Sorry Double Post

We can wish but at the same time if it does fall through it probably means his hip is REALLY BAD.
Either way this is a disastrous situation for everyone involved now....

I can't imagine the rift between the players and the front office of both teams if the trade gets voided. I wish we can just compensate with another pick (probably our own 2018 pick).

Sounds like BS to me.
If our docs decide he didnt need surgery then whats the worst case? He could need surgery?
They want Jae and they want the Brooklyn pick.
Woj hasn't been reliable lately and he's got way more click bait since joining espn.

This could be Cleveland and Lebron screwing the C's into giving up another asset in the trade, in which case I'd tell them to go kick rocks.

They want more than that. They want at least another trip to the finals, and if things break right for them, another title. A healthy IT who performs at last year's level puts that in play. An IT who sits out the last year of his contract with surgery does not.

except his hip won't let it happen. That's the point

It's posturing for more assets. And Ainge will be a dumb ass to give up any more.

if they do anything to the deal, i expect it would be to expand it a bit. maybe a second round pick here, a bench player there.
but, i would not be surprised if ainge plays hardball and say take it or leave it.

I hope so we gave up enough. Love the trade as is but anything more than a second forget about it.
