i dont think people realize that stars are FLOCKING to boston now.... kyrie begged to be traded here or san antonio. Hayward was the same he wanted boston after all the meetings. Horford came here. KD almost came..

remember the times we couldnt even get the david wests of the world to come here?   there will be more stars o good role players begging to come and chase rings now to play with our big 3 and stevens. When Anthony Davis misses the playoffs again, where will he want to go? we still got assets to make the godfather offer that beats out other teams.

Cool.  Hopefully he wins enough to deserve it.

Yeah, I think this was a big reason why Danny might've overpaid a bit for him. With others like George, Cousins, etc., there were serious concerns regarding them being flight risks, along with other issues. From everything that I've read, they did their homework on Kyrie (I'm guessing through his agent or through back channels), and they're pretty confident that he wants to be here and will resign long-term here in two years.

That's nice, but two years is a lot of time. What's more telling to me is that he waived his trade kicker to come to us. He gave up a decent chunk of change ostensibly because he wants to be in Boston.

Apart from waiving the trade kicker, it's all just words. I'll try not to get too invested and see what he does towards the end of his contract.

I think when all is said and done, in 6-7 years Kyrie could be an all-time great Celtic. Dude is going to put up 25+/3/7 for the next 7 years with great efficiency.

Could be a disaster and Ainge trades him next summer. There is no loyalty in pro sports as much as want there to be.

Maybe he'll break Isaiah's record for highest career PPG in Celtics history.

If his desire to stay here is strong, he is eligible for an extension next year. That will lock him up at below open market max rates.

He does have ties to Boston.  His father is one of the greatest players in Boston University history.

Yep, that'll be the test.

Maybe he takes us to a title, which matters more to me.

And if/when he doesnt leave tens if millions of dollars on the table by signing an extension next year instead of waiting until free agency to sign a max contract, that doesnt mean that he doesn't want to be here long term

My hope is also the Kyrie is in Boston long term. I'm excited about this team but I'm also about tired of the churn. I'm optimistic a core of Kyrie, Hayward, Horford, Smart, Tatum, and Brown can stay together for a while (at least the 3 years of Horford's contract) and do some serious winning together.
