Title: last man standing-abdel nader
Post by: rollie mass on August 19, 2017, 04:49:30 AM
Went back and watched one of my late round favorites as he scored 32 points in a variety of ways.Showing his three point shooting, ability to finish at rim with either hand,,dunks of spin moves either hand,-Nader won rookie of year with Red Claws for good reason.
I think Nader has elite use of both hands and has elite wingspan 7-1 with a nice shot from distance and has shown loyalty and determination to the celtics
.I was criticized for my assessment  of Gerald Green and will probably receive it for praising abdel nader but he has risen to the top from end of season into NCAA tournament,Portmouth tournament, summer league and d league as rookie of year and a star at d league showcase.
Nader is not a tweener was shooting threes the first half of d league at elite level, got to rim easily and has elite use of either hand.

Nader is in tough position with all our strength at wing but after i just finished his scoring 32 points then his highlights for season it just reminded me of why i liked him last year-but that was with rj and young under performing

Now we have semi, tatum, brown but that doesn't mean i can't appreciate Nader for his determination and the skills he does have-and that huge wingspan of 7-1 for a 6-7 player.

With Jaylen and Tatum having such versatility and potential
Then you throw in that freak athlete Semi Ojeleye!!! NO guy that big and strong should possess the vertical ,sprint and lane agility he has.Third quickest in lane agility with a 40 inch vertical AND then 8th in sprint at combine
AND the guy can shoot from deep
AND the guy has defensive DNA
AND he has work ethic off the chart.
Its going to be one competitive training camp

This is the interesting part...who will shine, who will surprise.

I was high on Nader and Semi before SL, but I've tempered by expectations...been burned too many times in year's past by the 'fool's gold' of early impressions in a league that does not resemble NBA competition or style.

The following 10-man rotation seeming pretty likely:
IT
Smart
Hayward
Morris
Horford
Crowder
Brown
Tatum
Rozier
Baynes

That means anyone in the bottom 5 averaging more than 10mpg would be an upset.  Could certainly happen with injury but likely these guys are deep bench.
Zizic (best chance to get decent minutes due to position IMO)
Semi
Theis
Yabu
Nader

Nader was pushing it, trying too hard and disappointment this year a summer league--my interest got re ignited by a new shooting game with a baseball twist at waltham  -a swish was a home run and nader was leader with 42-
I can't wait to see semi with crowder and marcus as examples of  defensive intensity

That 10 man rotation seems spot on--TP

I agree and I am not optimistic after the summer league but I think the pushing too hard might explain that.

I'm more excited about Yabu than Semi or Nader.

He may get a few garbage minutes early in the season and I hope he takes advantage to show what he has to offer. More likely he will have to prove himself against our other swing and wings before he sees the floor.
