And he probably wasn't selling it. Someone with his money can afford to carry around large quantities of weed for personal use.
But stupid laws don't care about actual intent, only perceived intent.
Or maybe he really was selling it. Which would be really dumb, but not that far off from ZBo's past actions before he seemingly 'got it together' while in Memphis.

Yeah, it's likely this - he probably just had a lot of it. Possible he was selling it though, we don't know at this point.

was Newton a multi-millionaire The salary cap was something like 40 million in 1996 when Newton was in his prime and he was a guard so not exactly a premier position.

It's very easy to get a medical marijuana card in California. Whoever you're selling it too, unless they are minors, just tell them to get the card and let them buy their own at a dispensary.
It's not that you needed the money too...
