Cliff notes:
Nobody was upset with Ray leaving per-say, it was the fashion in which he did it. Not reaching out to anyone and just dipping out, even after many deep and family oriented experiences with all those guys. Everyone spoke on the situation BUT Rondo, who took a pass. Obvious bad blood there from something even deeper that went on.

Still hate Ray Allen for the way he left, and how we lost Game 3 of the 2010 Finals. He saved LeBron his career in 2013.

I knew it was rumored that ray was mad at doc cuz of AB getting minutes but cool to see paul admit a and confirm that. It's a really interesting nugget of info and makes ray look more like a diva.
Also crazy to see this legendary Celtic core back together

What I took from it is no one's extending the olive branch to Ray anytime soon. Also interesting that Rondo said the Bulls felt that if he hand't gotten hurt they'd have have swept the Celtics.

This is what Ive been saying all along. But no, all people tell me that it was just Allen leaving that they were mad and they have no right.
There was silence from Ray before his decision. Look, its fine for Ray not to tell Danny beforehand, or even Doc. But these people were his brothers, he should have the courtesy to give them a heads up.

That championship season (and the next 2-3 years after) meant SO MUCH to us as Celtics fans.
If Paul, KG, Perk, Rondo and BB are truly upset at HOW he left then I can understand that. But even after almost 10 YEARS they still holding a grudge?
Just let it go. Whether or not Ray even comes around let it be on HIM - not on THEM.

Let it go how? What do you want them to do? I don't think Ray Allen has even tried reaching out to them. I mean they were asked a question and responded. They have clearly moved on and are happy with each other. Ray Allen doesn't want to be a part of that. He made it pretty clear he doesn't care with his Facebook reply today. You should check out his facebook page. He's in Miami gear. He is not a Celtic, lol. He doesn't see himself that way.

I was as ticked as anyone when Ray left but its been five years now. Hell, even Perkins joined LeBron to ring chase in Cleveland (2015) and just this season Rondo and DWade became teammates. Just let it go, I have to agree.

Doesn't make me any less of a Celtics fan either.
If Rondo is offended (or any Celtics fan for that matter) they should MAN (or WOMAN) up.
The fact that the five of them even discussed it on air like this means that it must still be an issue for them as well.

Fast forward from the contending years nearly all of them out either retired or out of the NBA, and the few that are left are hanging on by threads.

seems ray was the bad teammate not rajon, i always suspected it that ray gets favourable coverage from the media because he is so friendly with them, whilst rajon couldn't care less.
it will be quite embrassing for ray if they decide to retire his number and none of his ex teammates show up.

The funny thing is that Rondo was the only one who didn't comment on it last night. I also thought Pierce confirming that Ray was unhappy with Avery taking some of his minutes was also telling.

Big baby looks really awful for being 31.. I do worry about his long term health.
As for this, I generally have to take the stance that if 6-8 guys all feel like a guy did something wrong (some of them with very very different personality as kg, pierce, rondo and perkins are very different), the guy probably did something pretty wrong.

The irony of that whole thing was everyone there got traded except the one that wasn't, Ray. I found that funny.
When I'm old and gray that always be my team. Special groups like that don't come around very often. Any beef with Ray will be squashed eventually.

The Cs offered RA 12 million for 2 years with a NO TRADE CLAUSE. If that's not a huge, expensive, committing olive branch, I don't know what is. The cHeat offered him 3 mil/year.
Judas didn't leave his brethren to chase a ring (that was only incidental and the ultimate pork job/icing on the cake). He left to the team that he did, the enemy, the cHeat, so he could give a big middle finger to Ainge, Doc and Rondo, his brothers in arms (PP and KG, especially), be [dang]ed. He didn't care who he hurt in sticking it to his targets.
He's a traitor, he's a Judas, and I'm praying that Markelle Fultz gets #20. No rafters for you little Ray Ray, you're a cHeat.

Ray traded his home, his friends for a ring. I'd never do that. When we are old its better to have all of these relationships than just another accomplishment.
And the stupid thing is, he couldve gotten both if he just talked to the guys before leaving. I mean, just ask PP and KG out for coffee or whatever Ray is drinking and tell them your feelings before leaving.

Sorry, but it wasn't the missed free throw. It was Coach "Genius" Popovich inexplicably taking his best rebounders out of the game and allowing Miami the second shots - I was screaming at the TV when he did it.
