eja is very happy with results of the NBA draft.
I am very happy with what I think I can get at picks 11, 21, and 30
Picks 21 and 30 are available, probably for a future 2nd. IMHO when you look at picks 31 thru 47 there's a lot of quality there. Technically 11 is available too.
In case Melo is moved or in case Justin Holiday moves on in free agency Mindaugas K will be a little more valuable perhaps and he is on the block.
David Nwaba....I assume he's one to watch in summer league. Ball is in but DeAngelo Russell is out. I think he has a shot.
I'm looking to build up some depth so I'm not actually looking to move a Parsons but I could be talked into it.

Man I always trade my 1st. One year I'll keep it.

Just floating this out there because I just got a question about it....the weekend after Columbus Day weekend (around Oct 16th) is when we did our draft last year. The year before that we did it earlier around Oct 4th.
I like to pretend we have social lives and go out on Friday and Saturday nights....that's the lie I tell myself.
By doing it around the 16th we get to watch a little of the preseason and then there's still time to make cuts (very quickly...last year I think you only had three days) then get the rosters assembled so there's time for about 5 days or so of waiver wire activity before actual play.
Feel free to state observational opinions here. This also allows for considering when the H2H draft could take place.

I think the earlier, the better. It gives everyone more time to make moves before the cutdown day, and more time to cut rosters down and get them into Yahoo. I think GC was planning to do the H2H league draft the week of August 17th. Somewhere closer to then would be ideal.

Fwiw since Lucky moved on the 2 leagues' drafts have been further apart -- without issue

As an fyi in case any of you ever want to be the commish I would like to point out the things you have to do to produce a draft and I think this is in order...and all this can be seen in the spreadsheet
1...make a spreadsheet/tab of all the points each GM got. Divide that by their games played to get a ppgp. Multiply that to all games missed (which you get by subtracting games played from the max allowed). Take that number and add it to the points they got. Now you have the TRUE number of points each GM got and now have a TRUE order of finish. However....highlight the GMs missing over 100 games because those guys are now ineligible for a top 3 pick, which you will need to remember later.
2. Find the NBA order of finish and apply our order of finish to theirs. Now you have tied our GMs original picks to their NBA finish/lottery picks
3. The lottery finish is now our lottery results. Be careful to make sure not to get tripped up by NBA swaps.
4. Now tie our lottery results to our picks....HOWEVER.....at THIS point you can't just tie the NBA lottery results to our GM's order of finish because THERE WERE TRADES. You have to now apply the lottery finish to our picks which were traded.
5. Now you have to reorder it according to penalizing the GMs that missed too many games to be eligible for a top 3 pick.
6. Now you have a true order of draft.
7. Now keep track of all picks going forward.
8. Now put the order in the thread and email entire league about this and ask them to check it. Wait months for someone to find error.
9. Audit entire thing. Discover they were right by a pick.
10. Post this warning to league......don't wait forever to find errors and tell Commish about them.

If i don't hear from these GMs in about 3 days we need to start thinking of replacements. I'm not going to be doing the radio silence wondering thing. The draft is in about 3-4 weeks and then we have immediate cuts and waivers. If I'm gonna do several hours/nights of work I'm gonna need people to take 5 seconds to let me know if they're playing.
For various reasons I'd suggest offers should first go to active GMs in the other league

I've spoken to Bacon via pm a few times over the last few weeks about trades. I don't think he's intending to drop out ---- but I don't know. I know sometimes he's here a lot, and sometimes not.

Everyone's screen can be different. On mine I am looking at the spreadsheet where I do this. To the left it says in a cell "Subject to lottery". Then over to the right it says in another cell "nba lottery results" with a link. Then when you scroll down there's a whole nother order where it says in bolded red "Amended order due to games missed." and to the right of that is the combined results of both the lottery and the games missed.
So what happened is you were sitting at 6th. Then Bada Bing jumped you in the lottery. Then MMSB and Webskins had their picks pushed down because they missed too many games.
There was also an explanation in this thread of lotto results on May 16
Then I posted the order in this thread months ago. I did correct it once at least several weeks ago.

Also....eja is becoming interested in trading away pick 21. It's as close as you can get to a first. eja would likely throw in Utah's 2nd next year, and possibly a low level player for any first next year.

Yes. I need to update the spreadsheet. After (or I suppose in some cases before) people have made their cuts they can pick their keepers in yahoo.
Then I have to go in and fix up yahoo. That's why there has to be a function pause in public trades for just a little while because I can't fix yahoo and process trades at the same time. There has to be a moment in time where nothing changes so I can fix it

I do not have patience for Knight to get healthy this year...just like I do not have patience to hold on to my first round pick the last 3 years...(stupid)
Knight fell out of the rotation in favor of youngsters last year. Then he got hurt this summer and probably will not play all year.... He is a good stash. I have gotten a couple offers.....Anyone one at the top interested picking up a solid bench player, a second rounder and take a chance on Knight returning to a 30 point player?

The commish set a deadline and it pass at 12..so now cuts got to be made and the commish has no other option but to make their cuts for them..GMs had 3 weeks to do it

I would agree on principle but I can't say I did the greatest job in the world and also it's a Sunday.
Traditionally we've handled these things by committee and I don't want to be overly heavy handed on this unnecessarily.
Luckily almost every team the cuts are fairly obvious down to one or two players

So interestingly I think just a few weeks ago to refresh and be correct and careful I actually copy/pasted everyone's yahoo roster into the spreadsheet. Then I updated trades. Then eventually draft picks. Then today cuts.
In that time Festus Ezeli seems to have been deleted from yahoo. He's not in the league. So yahoo made the decision for us with Bada Bing, possibly explaining some confusion.

It was rather interesting who did and didn't pick keepers. The oddest thing was one GM picked 2. I don't get that.
There's also a quality aspect to the GMs picking the keepers. If I have to edit 20 times 16 keepers tonight the odds of me fudging up go up. I dislike that.
I'm thinking maybe for next year if you don't set your keepers you move to the back of the waiver line
