Need to secure the win today, no excuses.celtics should win this one going away. expect to see young out playing in the fourth quarter. heck, if the game were in boston, i would predict a gino sighting. ;D
Thank God I can watch a Celtics game and sleep after it 8) Bless the matinee games.Amen, brotha!
Let's go!!
Yeesh, Brown with an early yank after a mistake on the first play.
I really do not think Smart gets enough credit. Is he not just a second year player? People judge him as if he is a seasoned veteran.
This needs to be a blowout...too bad Mickey and Jackson are in Maine right nowNice tactic by Knicks turning this to a trap game!

No other promising rookie in this league is getting this kind of teaching. I dont know if I agree with yanking him after one mistake in a game like this. He needs to be able to work through his mistakes without feeling like he needs to play tight.

3rd year, but yes he is still very young
Unless you're watching film AND understand the Celtics defensive concepts, I don't think you have any idea how many mistakes KO makes a game. I'm sure this move has been a long time coming. Jaylen has athletic talent, but apparently he has a ways to go in terms of understanding how to play the game.Yeesh, Brown with an early yank after a mistake on the first play.
I don't get it either. I don't like harsh rookie treatment.
Especially when Ko makes 10+ defense mistakes a game.

I don't mind that. Brad wouldn't do that if he didn't have pretty high expectations for Jaylen. Just keep lighting a fire under him so he stays hungry

If Smart is in his third year, then who did we pick the year after him and the year before Brown?

Nice cut by Brown and on time pass from Smart.
Is it me or do we play better on the road?

I'm on the fence about it. I mean, he wouldn't do it if he didn't think he could handle it and it'd make him better.
But on the other end, he has a significantly shorter leash than any other rookie Brad has ever had, even Smart, who played an even more important role on the team in his rookie year.
Granted, we're a much better and deeper team than that team with Smart as a rookie, so there might be more reason to have this short of a leash with a rookie in the rotation.

Edit: TP to max for beating me to it

We'll see if he makes it back in the game.
Smart having a good offensive game so far - hit a jumpshot and 3 assists already. Good to see after his play of late.i still dont like the shot he made. he was falling back and off balance. smart needs to take set shots and be in better control of his balance and body. he is similar to rondo on this. both twist, turn, lean, and move while shooting. a recipe for missed shots. >:(
Lots of fans want to pull guys for not making shots. But coaches are more interested in whether they can trust a guy. That's the issue with Jaylen.Yeesh, Brown with an early yank after a mistake on the first play.

Has he ever had as short a leash as he did today? I think this might have been for him doing something Brad specifically told him not to do. Usually he allows a couple of mistakes
that was a stroke by Kristap....... looks like KO is going to have a good game tonight.

I'm happy for this. Celtics need him.
Was this miscue on defense? Or was it offense? Either way, you could tell BS had had it.Yeesh, Brown with an early yank after a mistake on the first play.

Today was definitely the shortest leash he's had, but it's been a common theme for him this year with the short leash. He regularly gets yanked for a defensive miscue and stuff like that.

I love Sundays against the Knicks!
This is a different ko today.
Not sure what turns on and off the switch.

Was Rozier our first pick?

Inferior competition certainly helps. This is a pretty sorry Knicks team.
I have always maintained why is slamming the ball against your opponent not a technical foul? If it is a technical foul to call a timeout while you are falling out of bounds, why is slamming the ball on your opponent not a tech. He could have seriously hurt Johnson's eye on that play.

Agree....thatvwas no accident , he aimed at his head
Terrible shot selection there, Marcus.
Rozier. Yeah I know, its weird when we dont get a lottery pick from Brooklyn.I really do not think Smart gets enough credit. Is he not just a second year player? People judge him as if he is a seasoned veteran.

even trying for a 2 for 1 possessions, there is no way in hell he makes that long shot. he basically just threw the ball away. i can see what he was trying, but it was an awful decision by smart to shoot that one. :PTerrible shot selection there, Marcus.
Yes. What in a world makes him trying to shoot from this position??! And in 2nd second of possesion. Inexplicable!
I'm starting not to like him. Not from today.

It was a 2 for 1.... Dumb, rushed shot, but it was far from inexplicable.
I think players push way too hard for the 2 for 1 nowadays. 1 good shot is better than 2 bad shots in my opinion.
More "brilliant" Jaylen Rose hot takes ::)

Would anyone trade the 2017 Brooklyn pick for Porzingis?

Would anyone trade the 2017 Brooklyn pick for Porzingis?
Probably, mostly due to his fit and our incredible need for a franchise-level big.
Yep. I don't think the Knicks would ever do it.Would anyone trade the 2017 Brooklyn pick for Porzingis?

I agree.
Man, Big Al LOVES dunking in the Garden!

I love Garbage time. I want to see another Jaylen Brown alley-oop from Jackson.
Does Avery really have a stomach illness or is this achilles related?
Apparently Crowder had x-rays on his left elbow. They came back negative. Good thing we got an extended rest before the next game, though of course it's the Cavs game and we play terribly off of that much rest.
Yah I should have checked who was active. But Zeller still sucks.I love Garbage time. I want to see another Jaylen Brown alley-oop from Jackson.
Mark Jackson? Because the other Jackson is playing in Maine.

Question: with Cleveland's tough schedule the rest of the way, if they would lose tonight to the Pacers, do they rest their guys on Wednesday and not give the C's a look at them before the playoffs?
50 wins!

He ll already flopped ....tapped out on the Spurs .....I suspect his pride is a little shook up ....self respect ...I think no way he doesn't come to prove a point .
Could be bad for Celtics
The brilliance is, we're both! Contending and rebuilding at the same time.50 wins!!!
But remember according to some we're still rebuilding and not a contender. :)
Hi guys. I Missed the game but I just saw Jaylen Brown seems to have a great stat sheet, with good shooting %.Eventually yes. But CBS was so p---ed at him that he yankked brown something like 30 seconds into the game. no kidding.
