I have no idea how to get removed from certain topics but lately I am getting everything from Comics to movies to books, etc.
All I want is the Celtics topics. I have no idea how to get these topics removed such as:
Other/General Sports
Television
Other Entertainment/Hobbies
I have no idea how to find someone to remove me from these topics. It seems very difficult as a week or two ago I clicked on "contact us" to explain and nothing happens. I am happy for everyone that wants all those topics but all I want is Celtics.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Not sure how easy that is to do, but seems like a silly thing in the end since all you have to do is bookmark the Celtics forum and stay there...
http://forums.celticsblog.com/index.php?board=3.0
-
the email usually has a link that says something like "unsubscribe from this topic" at the bottom in small print.
edit: unless you aren't talking about an email, in that case, I don't know.

I have bookmarked the Celtics forum but these topics are showing up in it.

Not sure what you mean by an email. When I open the Celtics Blog Forums there are many topics but lately I have been inundated with topics that have nothing to do with the Celtics and I don't know how to get rid of them other than "Mark all topics Read" but that is annoying to have to do each time. I just don't know why I am getting these topics.

now I understand. it says "latest forum topics" for a reason, it's the topics people are talking about at the moment. if you don't want that then hit the "-" and it will minimize something you don't have to pay attention to anyway. if you have it bookmarked then the topic you bookmark only shows for that topic because the books thing is in a different area than general Cs talk.

TP! I will try that and hopefully it solves my problem. Thanks

Cool pictures. Any truth to the word that Terry is sipping "lean"?

I HAVE no idea what this topic is about. What am I missing? You guys belong to some list serve?

you get emails from the forums for the topics you have replied/subscribed too
if you just assigned them to spam from day 1, then you prolly just forgot all about them; moreover, gmail and other email providers often send such mails directly to 'Updates' or folders other than 'Primary' that the users check rarely - this is what happens in my case, I still have all the emails but I rarely if ever read them.
You can decide your settings manually if you go to

Lol I don't even remember using an email to make Celtics Blog, but it's been a while. Even if I did, I most likely used a smurf email account.
As for forum topics...I only see the topics on the "Latest Forum Topics" and just click on those threads. If I feel the need to dig up something, I'd just go to "Forum" and search for the specified categories lol. I.e. Brooklyn Nets Season Watch Thread would be under "Around the NBA," and so forth haha.

It has nothing to do with emails. It had to do with unwanted topics mixed into the Celtics topics which is all I want.

Once the season starts up again the topics will be more NBA-focused again, but this time of year is extremely slow basketball-wise, so all the off-topic threads rise to the top
I don't know if there's any way to filter the "Latest Forum Topics" section, but on the bright side it will )well, should) be back to basketball once training camp starts

I am trying to upload a png graphic to explain what I see but it doesn't let me - something about can't find upload path or something.

You just need to go into the Celtics forum area and not the "Latest Forum Topics". There is going to be non-Celtics stuff in that window and that's how it is. Not sure what the problem is. You are just looking in the wrong area. There's no fix for what you are complaining about and that's not how forums work.
And this isn't even the right area for this thread.

yep and you can even close the Latest Forum Topics so you don't have to see any of them.
-
Yeah, you can just click on forums and then celtics talk and you're all set.
-
Please remove me from this thread.
-
Now, is there a way to put posters on ignore.
I'm not sure I can handle the "Jaylen cured cancer" thread that is inevitably coming.
-

Opening a non-Celtics topic against non-Celtics topics was the right thing to do.

Okay here is a graphic. Look 5 topics down where it is talking about Social Media. I get all kinds of this NON-CELTIC crap and there has to be a way to keep it out.

you probably couldn't handle it if it was "Danny cured cancer" either, huh?
but i bet you could handle it if it was "Dunn cured cancer", right?

This had me laughing my butt off for whatever reason.

As I said, if your interest is solely on Celtics topic then STAY on the Celtics Topics forum and don't use that tool:

That page's function is to include "non-Celtic crap," and our software isn't sophisticated enough to single out Celtic-only topics for you on that page.
To solve your problem, simply visit this page instead:
http://forums.celticsblog.com/index.php?board=3.0
That page contains all the Celtic topics and only Celtic topics. Excluding that "Remove me please" thread of course (which will probably get moved soon enough).

Why not? I get everything else from Comics, Books, Social Media, Movies, Television shows and much much more. So I don't see the problem but very funny.

Why don't they remove all those ridiculous topics in addition to this one?

Why don't they remove all those ridiculous topics in addition to this one?
Because the site doesn't revolve around the preferences of one poster?
It's fine to not be interested in these things but no one's making you click on them. Why should things other posters are interested in discussing, especially during the dog days of the offseason, be removed just so you literally don't have to see the thread titles in one panel of your screen?

No, CoachBo is looking for the "Danny causes cancer" thread, but he won't find it. We've hidden it with the thread where we coordinate our posts to protect the honor of our lord and savior, Danny Ainge, and that one about what our favorite nacho recipes are

Is there somewhere I can go to find *more* posts of things I'm not interested in? ...anyone?

It's a community blog that is anchored by Boston Celtics fandom but not exclusive to Celtics talk.
It was that way long before you came on these boards and the intention has always been to have it as a community. There's never been discussion to change it.

Your thread isn't a problem, it's just ironic.
You don't want to see threads that aren't related to the Celtics because they are of no interest to you, yet now others have to see this thread even though its of no interest and/or doesn't relate/apply to them.
He's not mocking you.
Part of what makes Celticsblog (and America) such a great place is its lack of censorship. The mods will actually let people praise Kobe or the Lakers, even to the detriment of a "Celtic" atmosphere. Likewise, they let us talk about TV and books.
