i just came across this article on vin baker. i am happy to report that he seems to be doing well. ala toine, he blew through his nba money but has managed to land on his feet and has been sober for four years.
i wish him luck and hope he makes good cappuccinos. if you are in RI, stop by and say hi! ;D

Good for him. Sounds like he's found some wisdom and some peace.

Anyone can become and addict, lose their money family and job. But not everyone could bounce back from that low. NBA should hire Vin to speak to rookies. Scare em straight

A friend of mine bought a coffee from him at the N.K. Starbucks.

Good for him.
I always wondered what might have happened had Baker actually been the player we expected him to be when he came to Boston. It probably wouldn't have been enough to be make us a contender, but it likely would have vaulted us to the upper echelon of the East.

Good for him. Life is long and he serves as a role model as a barista too
