I just realized why we aren't up 2-0. I haven't been wearing my Celtics jerseys!
I usually wear my Rondo away jerseys or away games, and KG home jersey for home games (during playoffs), so I'll be wearing KG tomorrow.
LET'S GO CELTICS!

Just got into the Garden via stubhub for under $59/ticket. WHERE IS CELTIC NATION!??!?! SCOOP UP SOME OF THESE TIX THIS SERIES ISN'T OVER YET!!!!
Must-win. And we're gonna win it.
Celtics by 25.
I'm not happy until this 2-2.
Just win please
Why is JET starting??????????????
WHY Is BASS on the Bench???????????????????????????????
You do NOTHING for 3/4 halves so you're rewarded by starting?
I personally think Bass is playing great in this series and I am mind blown.
Why is JET starting??????????????i'm surprised that anyone else is still surprise on how doc genius rewards terry and or how he plays this roster.lol

Is this true?
If so, AMEN!!!!
Someone needs to relive Pierce of ball-handling duties. It's tiring him out. I was a proponent of starting Lee, but Terry is better at the PnR. Get KG involved.

Let's hope you're right... I'm kinda worried by the fact that we haven't experimented with that starting lineup more than a couple of times all year long though!
And what's Docs plan for backup PG then? Somehow smells of desperation.Tyron Lue.lol
I'm not happy until this 2-2.
Just win please
we will split at home then the knickerbockers finish us off at MSG, knicks in 5!
Great D by GreenYes, great hustle by Jeff Green. Read it well.
Did Felton block Bradley's shot again? C'mon Bradley.
Aye! Let's try not to get into a three-point shooting contest with this team. That is a guaranteed way to lose.
I think they're too eager
We need a big man so badly come on Doc
Knicks are just outworking the C's. Flying around the court attacking and rebounding.
Dont give up fellas. We just need a run to turn the tide...
The philosophy to run back instead of crashing the boards coupled with our rebounding-inept players will never let our team beat a team like the Knicks. Their players, namely Chandler, are too skilled at creating second and third-chance opportunities for the Knicks.
Our team is severely flawed, and it's about time Doc adjusts temporarily with players or Danny permanently with a roster haul. This team is a disgrace to watch.
Knicks playing very well. Credit to them.
Is Mike Breen drinking? How does he not know the quarter just ended lol
Bad start. They are playing nervous. Look overwhelmed.
Rondo's ability to orchestrate and facilitate the half court offense and have his offense end up shooting at a high percentage, is what this team so desperately needs. Rondo is the best floor general in the league. You need a player like that in the slow it down, half court, tough it out world of the NBA playoffs.
I liked the quickness and urgency Courtney Lee showed their transition. Really pushed the ball hard. Didn't just jog up-court at 3/4 speed like so many others have so far tonight.
That shot by Craw is the type of shot that JR Smith would hit on us lol
Bad start. They are playing nervous. Look overwhelmed.
The Celtics are by and large a young, inexperienced team in the playoffs. The Knicks have tons of playoff experience on that roster. Not to mention Prigioni who has lots of experience overseas.
The Knicks have the edge in composure, and it shows.
That's one way. The other is that Rondo would push the pace when needed and hold back when needed and dictate pace of the game. A lot of these awkward fast break misses would probably be converted with a proper ball handler that can penetrate or pull up or dish before the defense can even get set. Celtics have been most effect in this series when they can do this but without the proper ball handler and penetrator and facilitator, its tough to continue for a whole game.Rondo's ability to orchestrate and facilitate the half court offense and have his offense end up shooting at a high percentage, is what this team so desperately needs. I think it is mostly the absence of dribble penetration.
Nobody who can get inside a set defense and force the Knicks team defense off balance.

It's been that way for a long time now. Not a crazy new revelation.
Doc's new foolish strategy. Double every play, so JR Smith can get wide open shots.
Don't have the horses
Makes no sense to me either. Shav should be playing, and we should not be doubling anyone. Why fix what wasn't broken?? Our defense was fine!Doc's new foolish strategy. Double every play, so JR Smith can get wide open shots.
and don't u dare put in bigs to score in the paint or board.
I don't know if the first piece to go this off-season should be Terry or Doc...quandary of the year...lol
well, at least we got the bad half out of the way first this time

There is a horse in the stable that would hustle like crazy and get you a double-double in limited minutes.

doc cannot go fast enough. hell, i'll help him pack. he is a moron.
You guys realize Doc's decisions are killing this team.I think it is more about the players playing poorly.
Is Melo shutting down Jeff Green or has Green just disappeared since the 1st half of game 1?Irritating
You guys realize Doc's decisions are killing this team.I think it is more about the players playing poorly.
I think very little of it has to do with coaching.
Jeff Green has to be a 20+ppg scorer in this series.
If the players miss shots and play bad, its Doc's fault for not playing the scrubs at the end of the bench. If the players just good enough, its Doc's fault for overplaying them. If the players have massive limitations and Doc plays a form of basketball that best limits those weaknesses, he's a dolt for playing that style. If Doc moves things around, he's a buffoon for not doing it months ago.
Okay. I get it. Doc can't win with some of you. I know he has his faults(he drives me nuts with his lack of TO's at times, he loves the 1-3 screen play and doesn't play enough pick and roll and plays too much pick and pop, and his rotations at times....WOW!!!) but if the Celtics lose this series or game, it will not be because of Doc Rivers.
I have seen absolutely nothing that can give us any sign of hope out there...

does this team even believe it can win?Honestly probably not. Just reading Pierce's body language, he's tired. He know's how hard it'll be just to win this game. Too much on his shoulders.

without letting Melo score 35+
This is one of the worst offensive teams I have ever seen. Pathetic. Defense isn't much better

If you think this is on Rivers, I have no idea what to tell you. We are at a MAJOR talent deficit to the Knicks right now. Major. It isn't close.
We are getting slaughtered.
Why did Doc mess around with the starting lineup?
This is the playoffs, you don't tinker with lineups at this juncture in the season!!!!

Honestly this is probably the two last games kg and pierce ever play. We haven't been a great team in a few years. I just hope the fans keep it classy and don't boo those guys on the way out. They just don't have it anymore. Winter is coming... They gave us 3-4 solid years of contention and one championship... We're about to a lotto team indefinitely. Let's show these guys some respect for what they managed to do. 20 years of irrelevance before KG arrived and we might be heading for another 20 years of irrelevance once he leaves
Thank you, KG. I appeciate you.
I think the question irrelevant as the margin of improvement in this team if Doc was using his players at their 100% highest efficiency wouldn't be great enough to make this team good enough to win a playoff series. If the players miss shots and play bad, its Doc's fault for not playing the scrubs at the end of the bench. Playoff basketball is about having the right star player or group of players. The Celtics best playoff player and the Celtics best rebounding and post offensive player were both lost for the year in January. There's little anyone could have done as a coach to have made this team much better, especially given the quality of players that make up players 10-15 on this team right now.
We are getting slaughtered.
it's over. game and series but i knew that 6 weeks ago that we were going nowhere.
Only 6 weeks ago?
I knew the second it was conclusive Rondo was done for the season. Hard to win without your best player, especially when the next two best are 35+.
No surprise here.
Danny has some work this offseason because something needs to happen. I'm done with this season.
They talked all that talk about coming back to Boston and playing great for the city yet this is the result.
18 points in first and 13 in the second. I wonder what's next? 10? 12? another 8?

..and the people who assured us that Terry will show up in the Playoffs.
Terry and lee are busts. No way around it. It is time to burn it down

the point so many here fail to see is yes, maybe we would still lose the series even if doc got the most out of them and used a better system...BUT HE DOES NOT! that is the point.
Jeff Green and Paul Pierce are a combined 6-19 FGAs with 0 FTAs and 6 TOs.
25 possessions used, 13 points scored.
The rest of the team has used 24 possessions for 18 points. Still very poor but not as bad as the two most capable scorers on the team.

Ray looking like a genius right now. He's outperforming any player on the Celtics too.
Our last four consecutive quarters against the Knicks: 11pts, 12pts, 18pts, 13pts ... I am stunned into praralysis.
The Knicks are not this good, folks ... and after all that's happened in Boston you'd think they'd be fired up luck never before!
This is not my Celtics ... it's about time they showed up.
We're making a 35 year old look like an all nba defenderPrigioni has been one of the best defensive PGs in the league I have seen this year.
Prigioni has enough face for two heads.
Avery Bradley looks like a D-Leaguer this series.
ugh, has KG ever had a game in Boston where he's looked this bad before?

Absolutely cooked
Almost like this team needs a(n all star caliber) PG.

Amazing all that talk about ainge refusing to let the same happen as it did in the 80s... And yet we stuck with the big 3 until they were completely cooked and worthless... Now in 5.5 quarters of basketball, kg and pierce will ride off into the sunset and we'll be desperately tanking for Andrew wiggins... But more likely looking at 5-20 years of complete irrelevance
Doc sticking with the script. Sign of a good coach. Down double digits, about to be down 3 games, and you stick with what is broken.

Yes, Yes!!!
Small ball does not work. Not without Lebron or Melo on your team. Guess what? Jeff Green is not in their class.
Maybe this embarrassing playoff series will finally lead to a change in philosophy with this team. The surprising playoff runs has allowed this organization to feel like whatever they were doing was working. Rebounding didn't matter, playoff seeding didn't matter, even playing well during the regular season didn't matter, not having any backup point guards didn't matter. Maybe finally the Celtics can join the rest of the NBA.
Doc is UNBELIEVABLE
Call a timeout and tell them to get on the bench or put some effort into it

Why would a quality NBA big want to sign here while Doc is coach?
I don't think I've ever seen a Celtics team in the KG/Big 3 era just give up before until tonight.
This team has no toughness, no effort, no heart, no grit and balls, and etc.
While they weren't the better team in some of the past series, they would at least defy the odds and push teams to the limit and down swinging while doing it. Last years team had players injured left and right and the bench was just a mess yet they displayed more than this.
I would have rather them miss the playoffs than to see this.
I don't think I've ever seen a Celtics team in the KG/Big 3 era just give up before until tonight.. Not a team, really. PP and KG and a bunch of guys they dont know. Its far form the gang of peers and hungry kids that came together in 08. Now its 2 aging vets and a bunch of journeymen. What can you do.
Realistically, after this debacle of a series, is Doc's job safe?Unfortunately

doc should be shown the door this offseason. no shav or wilcox.
Reminds me a bit of the Pistons after they traded Chauncey and got bounced by the Cavs in the first round that year.
The players just knew. They knew they weren't good enough to compete. They had been to the mountain top and knew they had no chance of getting there again. It was over.

Reminds me a bit of the Pistons after they traded Chauncey and got bounced by the Cavs in the first round that year.
The players just knew. They knew they weren't good enough to compete. They had been to the mountain top and knew they had no chance of getting there again. It was over.
With rondo down, we've been exposed. Rondo was our only player who can hold onto the ball, dribble correctly, and pass correctly, hence why he is always "pounding the ball."
Can we atleast win Sunday, the idea of "sweep" haunts me.
I think they're good enough to not be swept.

Good thing this team never seems to get a true pg to back him up. Doc is always trying to convert a sg or sf to be our backup pg. Just dumb!!!
Danny gets blame for this one too!
next year we need to get barbosa back.
Good teams actually have backup points and bigs who can rebound. I wish Ainge can join the revolution sometime soon. Good teams do not use players like Bass. It's nonsense. What's with all the animosity towards Bass lol
Sorry for the long postI don't think I've ever seen a Celtics team in the KG/Big 3 era just give up before until tonight.. Not a team, really. PP and KG and a bunch of guys they dont know. Its far form the gang of peers and hungry kids that came together in 08. Now its 2 aging vets and a bunch of journeymen. What can you do.
Dont want to say too much about any one player but Bro Bass has hardly taken advantage of his opportunities from the bench. Not, I fear, a building block.
Nothing, really, other than he aint no Leon Powe. Even the Pugancious Papoose took better charges.Good teams actually have backup points and bigs who can rebound. Bradley just got exposed. He may be a ball hawk, but he sure isnt fast enough.
I like him, but someone form the board was right, we should have traded him when his stock was high.
our shaq team was so strong in chemistry it was ridiculous. i want krypto-nate backSorry for the long postI don't think I've ever seen a Celtics team in the KG/Big 3 era just give up before until tonight.. The bold is the first time in a long time where I didn't feel the closeness or bond of this team.
-08 I could see the chemistry and closeness clear as day because they were all equally hungry and starving for a championship
-09 I could see it even with KG down
-10 even with some issues, I still felt they had chemistry
-11 before the trade and the injuries to Shaq and Rondo the chemistry was there and strong. They looked like a family that really spent time with each other outside of basketball.
-12 even last year I could see some chemistry and a bond
-This year I just didn't see any chemistry or a bond or anything. They don't even look like they talk or communicate with each other outside of playing basketball (other than KG and Paul).
It looks like a team of an aging Paul and KG with some players just picked up off the street to play with them.
What I was driving at. Really has come into focus in the prism of playoffs.Sorry for the long postI don't think I've ever seen a Celtics team in the KG/Big 3 era just give up before until tonight.. I never bought the excuses. Not in Doc's whole tenure as coach.
Gotta have a 2-way game. particular wing players.Bradley just got exposed. He may be a ball hawk, but he sure isnt fast enough.

Bradley got toasted by a fat Raymond Felton. Not to mention his offensive skills are at the level of a 12 year old.
Doc is a good salesman. I bet he can convince ownership to bring the band back.
Healthy Rondo and Sully
Jeff Green will be 100%
Bradley will improve
And I will be sad.
I hate going back to the past, but that team before injuries and the trade looked like they had so much fun together.our shaq team was so strong in chemistry it was ridiculous. i want krypto-nate backSorry for the long postI don't think I've ever seen a Celtics team in the KG/Big 3 era just give up before until tonight.. Takeaway the Thib years and he sucks

Like I said earlier; Seems like they ran Clifford Ray out of town because he preached rebounding. Ever since then, there has been a lot of small ball.
amen amen amen! rebuilding should start with him out of this team. it doesn't take a genius to know that small ball only works if you have a player who could dominate like lebron. ugly way to finish the kg-pp era.I never bought the excuses. Not in Doc's whole tenure as coach.
DOC IS A MORON. HE NEEDS TO BE SHOWN THE DOOR IN THE REBUILD!!!!!! LOOK AT HIM! still playing small ball. SMH.
he could have at least tried when his gameplan isn't working. but no no no doc genius is no fan of change.I never bought the excuses. Not in Doc's whole tenure as coach.

There's been alot of small ball because Ainge hasn't been looking to recruit bigs... or the bigs that we currently have are not "big" in a sense. How can you blame Doc for going small when that's all that he has to work with?

Well then what lineup would he be going with? I felt like he did try to go big in Game 2 when he had PP at the 2, Green at the 3, Bass at the 4 and KG at center.
What other lineup would you rather have seen? Or better yet what other lineup would make more sense if you wanted to go "big."
i think they should try and color their hair ala rodman so that the genius coach can see they exists.I never bought the excuses. Not in Doc's whole tenure as coach.

Has Wilcox?
Has Shav?
Last year, he had Steamer?
