it's a back to back..KG and Paul exerted a lot of energy last night. Rarely do we win back to backs in the first place...so how do you play it?
You have 2...maybe 3 new players. Do you let them get confidence and play together? Learn each other, get chemistry, etc.
Or do you try to make this a 2-3 trip?
Let KG/PP get some rest...then they have 4 days off before the next game against a very good GSW and more road tripping.
Thoughts?

Utah is a winnable game. Tough but winnable.
I think they have a few days off after this before the next one as well. Yes, Golden State on the 1st of March at home. So they'll get enough rest before the next game.
I do not sit them. Play KG and Pierce.
-
They don't play again til Friday so I don't see Doc not starting them. He can always pull them back and limit their minutes if it gets ugly early and KG and Pierce don't look like they have anything in the tank to mount a comeback.
-
They're off until Friday so "no" I wouldn't sit them.
I'd monitor their minutes but that's about it. Play for the win tonight. They certainly can win this game.
-
play them both. limited minutes for PP if possible
-
Don't worry, I'm sure doc will pull KG the first 2 mins of the game.

I'd like to say this is a winnable game—in one sense it is, because any team can beat any other team on any given day—but let's be real here: Boston usually struggles on the tail end of back-to-backs, especially on the road—the last such occurrence was last week's debacle against the Lakers after a narrow loss to Denver, and we have a similar situation developing here: narrow loss to Portland, with a tough opponent the next night.
Plus, Utah is one of the best home teams in the league, and their bigs make ours look like a junior-high collection.
So we'll probably get outrebounded by at least 10 and lose by 15. Optimistic, I know, but I find that lowering my expectations softens the inevitable blow (it worked for the Lakers game, anyway ;D ).
-
I would love to see Paul Pierce play in every game this season.
-
KG just had a rest on Friday and we'll need all of our bigs to match up against the bigs of Utah. KG is also one of our few players who have statistically played better on the road than at home this season.
PP, I'd like to see play since we don't play again until Friday, but at least we have some depth behind him in Green and T-Will/Lee if Doc did want to go that route. I'd like to see play, but I'd be OK if he doesn't. Our offense will be quite the erratic one without Rondo and Pierce.
-
Sit them both. Green can lead us tonight imo.
-
No need.
-
you all keep saying we don't play again until the first.
if Doc's new mantra is rest over winning, and we're on the tail end of a back to back which we don't win any way, why risk anything with ur vets and why not let them have the 4 days of rest (since he won't practice them anyway).
give the new guys time to learn each other, a la preseason, and rest.
we can beat the jazz without our best players...but I'm saying.
And for all of you saying limit KG/PPs minutes tonight. Yea right lol. Doc's done that like twice this season only due to blow outs. He doesn't know how to scale their minutes back. He only knows how to use them
-
Might not hurt. Especially pp. Get the new guys some pt.
-
No and don't see the need with 4 days rest before the next game.
-
they aren't making enough to play every nite
-
i wouldn't sit them. i want the win. i would try and limit/regulate their minutes tho
