I'm not mad at this at all, the kid has a lot of talent. He's just a knucklehead who needs to be shown the way. I feel like if we get him though KG and PP are staying, or maybe i'm reading too much into this... ::)

Love it if it happens. Very athletic, underrated court vision and defense.

Sign him up for the year why don't you, Danny.

Good fit for current needs - athleticism, ball-handling ability and positional versatility.

I hope this goes through - he's wild but dynamic.

Don't think you should read that far... the really trade discussions are just perking up, with teams finally putting their best offers on the table before the deadline.

If anything, it could be indicative of the opposite -- young, immature guy instead of steady vet. But a tiny move like this is not likely any indication of things one way or the other.

Good flier.  I've semi-followed T-Will since college - classic case of a million-dollar body and a ten-cent head.  So far the head has won more than lost.  Let's see if Doc and company can reverse that.

Both TWill and Yi Jianlin were the two players I'd love to have from China.

I thought both were tied up there at least for another few weeks because their teams had made the playoffs.

Hope I am wrong.

T-Will left his team because of an unexpected death in his family.

I don't recall any issues during his stint with the Kings. He was a fan favorite and people were really bummed that he was let go when James Johnson was signed. T-Will is a very versatile player and a great signing if it happens.

honestly, not too worried about his offense as long as his defense is up to par.

sounds like he has the athleticism to play solid D. i think he'll struggle initially cause the system might be tough for him, but hopefully come playoff time, he can at least give us 5-10 solid minutes.

i like that hes a true 2 or 3, which allows bradley and terry to focus a bit more on playing the 1 and not going up against some of the bigger guards. plus he can get some time at SF if foul trouble comes up for green and pierce.

good signing

Whats his deal? Seemed like he had a ton of promise in College and played semi-decent in his first year as a Net. Pretty much has been a D-League floater since then.

All signs point to him being a good player. 6' 6'' athletic freak. Is he Gerald Green 2.0 or is he just a knucklehead that hasnt been able to cut it? If so what has he done to be constantly demoted and out of an NBA contract just 4 years after he was drafted at number 11?

I feel like this should be a steal of a signing but I dont know enough about his NBA track record to say so.

Another Von Wafer, more or less.  About the best we could do at this point in the season.

Nice thing is he has size and can also handle the ball a bit.

Really like the fact he can play multiple positions, known to be a good passer, and I guess decent D.  Would like another signing to be able to play the 4/5 spot.

This is great! He has a lot more talent/potential than Delonte West or Shelvin Mack. He's sort of like DeMarcus Cousins in a way - hopefully he if we get him, KG will make him get his act together.

Von's probably a better shooter from deep, but otherwise Williams is a much more talented player. It's his immaturity, not his game, that has kept him out of the league.

By all accounts he's been outstanding in the Chinese league.

I feel like this should be a steal of a signing but I dont know enough about his NBA track record to say so.

He refuses to accept his role. Continually tries to do more offensively than his coaches want him to do. An inefficient scorer who jacks up shots at an idiotic clip. Awful shot selection. Turnover prone. A ball stopper who often over-dribbles. No discipline offensively. Highly erratic. Drives coaches nuts.

Very talented player but has a lot of flaws as a decision maker.

If he could just stop trying to do so much, he would be a 30+ minute a night player solely on the basis of his defense and rebounding which are both very strong for a guard.

Green has been out of the Pacers rotation for a month now. This was a wide open starting swingman spot in Indiana that he successfully played himself out of being the clear-cut favorite of it.

He was outplayed by Lance Stephenson and Orlando Johnson, for crying out loud. Same old Gerald.

I can see why they would prefer a bigger ball-handler, given that Lee is the only guard taller 6'3 that we currently have.

Of course, this is a riskier move, given that you know exactly what you get with Pargo, and Williams is somewhat of an unknown commodity at this stage of his career.

Terrence Williams may be the solution to finding a back-up point guard. I found this highlight clip of him last year, he looks very comfortable bringing the ball up and orchestrating out of the pick and role. Check it out:

There's a distinct difference between being able to bring the ball up and being a point guard. I'd rather have him as a SG/SF role.

Talent-wise he's a poor man's Iggy... I hope we can get the best out of him.

Maybe playing for bad/lottery teams has something to do with his immature game. Trying to show off his talents to get traded to a playoff team. Maybe once he comes in Boston, he'll stop trying to do too much and embrace his role within a team with high playoff aspirations and veteran leaders in KG and Pierce.

Anyhow, worth the risk!

Williams is good enough to start from a pure talent pov, but he has a long way to good to prove he's got the head to do it. In fact, he would be a great backup 2/3, but again he's got to show maturity and discipline that he has never shown in the NBA before.

Potentially, he could back up Pierce and Lee allowing Green play all his minutes at the 4. Bass becomes more expendable if that happens. Highly unlikely unless he's changed a lot since he was last in the NBA, though.

Bradley/Lee/Williams/Green/KG is potentially a *great* defensive unit that would have to run, run, run offensively.

I don't understand how signing a guy to a 10day contract means Green is gone.
Especially given that they play different positions.

Um, no.

Green is not going to play minutes at the 4 because he can't really, and because we don't want him to. There is no scenario at all in which he'll start at PF.

He could have started right now if the team thought this was an option.

KG cannot "run, run, run"

A worthwhile experiment I think, giving us some size at the wings.

Bingo.  It's kind of funny to see all the posts reacting like we just signed a surefire future All-Star, given that he has been in the NBA before and stunk.  This isn't an overly impactful move, just Danny doing his best in an empty free agent market.  It is more likely that he doesn't pan out but it is worth a try.  Nothing more, nothing less.  A "worthwhile experiment" is the perfect terminology.  Worth a shot, that's about it.

This feels like the Dionte Christmas hysteria all over again.
