Title: My prediction is, team will remain. But we need support
Post by: Tr1boy on February 17, 2013, 12:49:10 AM
We are 8-1 since Rondo's injury. And it was one of the roughest stretches of the year where we met like 5 top caliber teams, played together, and won.

So now we blow up the team?? I don't think anyone not named Durant, Lebron, Wade will be able to entice Danny to give up KG or Pierce.  In Danny's eyes these two guys 25 or 35 are still two of the best players in the league.

IF we were 1-8 since after the loss of Rondo, for the better of the team and its future, plus KG and PP's future, you have to make the Bledsoe, Jordan + whoever else best PP can get you back trades. But again that is not the case, so it wouldn't make much sense to blow up a team that has only given indications they can possibly go all the way.

The main thing now is, we need support. We need two guys exactly or close to what Sully and Barbosa brought to the table. We got a 1st, 2nd, maybe melo, bass to try to work some magic. Maybe get lucky with a unfound nbdl or overseas gem. If you don't give up KG and PP for some enticing young players because you trust this team has a chance, you better help equip it properly.

Can't wait until the deadline is over but also at the same time excited to see what additions will be made.

The team will remain the same because there is very little that can be done through trades to make this team better over the long term.  There is no "young guy and a bunch of draft picks/projects for a Hall of Famer on the tail end of his prime" trade out there like Big Al and Co. for KG in 2007.

The rumored trades that have been spewed in the media in no way make this franchise better.

i agree. We could trade some of our key players but then we will not be a contender anymore or be in rebuild mode.

Giving up picks can also comeback and bite you. For the most part, DA has been good at drafts. Kenneth Faried, Sullingers, Jimmy Butlers can be found in the 20's if you do your homework

I hope someway somehow DA finds one pf/c and g who will play on a nightly basis and make a contributions through FA or NBDL or Overseas. Some have asked for Flynn and Erden back. And you know what, i would be happy with these pickups.

Flynn is like a shorter barbosa. Can really drive and score. Play defense. The thing with him is, turnovers , mediocre iq and is not a pure pg. But i think if we get him, we would ask him to play a little more conservative and it can workout

Erden is a mobile 7 ft center that does a little bit of everything. Plus he knows the system. From what i remember he was pretty darn good for a guy picked last in the draft. DA should of not traded him away
