Howard told Rudy Gay he will be a Net next season?
Not sure I see any feasible way, how he gets there.

Sign and trade for Lopez and Humphries? Steven A Smith is not the best source either way.

Sounds like a made up rumor.
Howard supposedly told Gay he messed up getting traded to the Raptors while the Lakers recently played in Toronto.
The only problem? When the Lakers played in Toronto, Gay hadn't been traded yet.
Once you lose credibility on a small point, it calls into question the entire "rumor".
Plus, of course, it's SAS, which almost by definition means it's nonsense.

I was going to post this. Then i was like do we really need another Howard rumor
-
The question is: Where will he be the year after that?

For what it's worth.
Lakers Nation @LakersNation
I'm not sure if Stephen A misspoke or meant another team, but the quote in the article about Toronto is correct.

I believe it. Howard never shuts up. It's really not that far fetched.
He also doesn't strike me as someone who actually thinks about the logistics of things too much either

It's not only far-fetched, the alleged conversation between Gay and Howard was impossible.

NOTHING is impossible in the Age of Information.

Well, it's far-fetched in that he was apparently predicting the future, speaking in the past tense about a trade that hadn't happened yet.
EDIT: What colincb said.

So its impossible for two people to easily direct message each other on Twitter?

Update: there seemed to be some inconsistency in Smith’s story, as he reported that Howard told Rudy Gay this while playing the Raptors. Unfortunately, that’s impossible because Toronto didn’t have Gay when they last played the Lakers.

Not. Credible.
End of story.
