Title: The Jason Collins Factor
Post by: CelticConcourse on February 08, 2013, 10:47:21 PM
Things to note:

-Is a solid veteran, four years of high school, four years of college, then 11 years of NBA hoops
-The Dwight stopper, limiting Dwight to just 9/9 yesterday
-One of our first bigs off the bench
-Epitomization of healthy! Ready for every game, whenever!
-top 97th percentile in defense
-great screen setter
-legit 7-footer

Solid stats:

-100% shooting past 6 games (2/2 FG, 6/7 FT) which is coinciding with our win streak
-0% shooting during six-game lose streak (0/2 FG)
-67% shooting during other six-game win streak (2/3 FG 4/5 FT)

-Played 45 minutes during this current win streak
-Just 28 minutes during lose streak!!
-34 minutes during first win streak

-6 rebounds in current win streak
-1 rebound in lose streak
-8 rebounds in first win streak

-just 13 points in first THIRTY ONE GAMES (0.4 ppg)
-22 points in next EIGHTEEN games (Celtics win 12 of 18) (1.2 ppg)
-scores three times more points when we play well

Improvements

-has scored over double as many points as he did in the entire 2009-10 season, in only three more games! the season isn't even over yet!
-shooting .073% better than three years ago, and up-and-coming solid player in this league
-shooting .731 from the FT line, hasn't done that since 2003-04!
-getting offensive boards more than last season and two years before that!
-fouling at a top-13 pace in the league, impressive! we need his grit and balls

Jason Collins is a beast and it's good Doc starts him sometimes; he is way better than any big we could pick up off the free agent market. It's been proven that our team is so much better when he plays more. Good job Doc for utilizing our secret strength...

He scores double as many points in our wins as in our losses, one would think this is the most important statistic of them all!

And to think we got him for the vet min. What. A. Steal.
Go Danny!
Go Doc!
Go Celtics!

I like Jason Collins.  Knows how to give hard fouls within the rule book.  And he's big.
We need big.

There have been quite a few times where I see him make a play and think "He's not so bad".

he has the right attitude,  works hard, stays in shape, clean hard player.   His best asset is his durability,  .       yea..Ferrari's.  break down a lot......they are fast and all......but a plain old well built Ford or Chevy will get ya where your going.

Collins. reliable.  and low maint.

like him. brings his hard hat and plays with all he has at every opportunity.

Hell I'm in a good mood. Jason collins just isn't that great of a BB player. That being said I almost never feel like he isn't giving it everything he has out there. Hes actually a good defender. The problem is that's pretty much the only thing he does even half way decent lol.

He wasn't even really supposed to play.
He's better than advertised tbh
Everything is relative.
Good enough for me!

This is just about the best and only thing you can say about him. I am insulted that you put up offensive stats for him.  He has no offensive game whatsoever. I assume that was a joke.

I don't like Jason Collins, never have, but he is serving his purpose right now.  If Darko hadn't left we would not even be having this conversation.

He was atrocious before the sully injury.since he's been solid.

Ironic.

Better without sully! ::) :P

He can play a solid 8mpg.
Isn't that enough and all we got him for?

That's what we wanted all summer until late pickup Darko but...
Like I said, goddanny planned this all out!

Stats say we're better it with Collins.

We thought he had no offense, but he's big and gives effort. What more could we ask for? Better than Bynum!

That % is better than Lebron's recent streak  8)

I'll give him credit in that he can and does hit his free throws.  How many bigs just get fouled and you are lucky if they hit one of two free throws.  Even certain point guards can't hit their free throws.
