They will ignore the past then, if the Celtics start next season off slowly, they will call for trading Pierce and Garnett again.

They will say "Yay championship!  Go C's!" and then go right back to saying the same stuff the next time the situation comes up.

Some fans really like the potential involved in roster turnover.  At the very least it's more interesting to discuss than, say, "Let's keep all the same guys but run more high screens!" or something.

I will be ecstatic and glad I was wrong.

But I'll make a deal: If we don't trade Pierce and KG, lose in the first round this year, and don't do too much better next year, I won't say "I told you we should have traded KG and Pierce."  So if, by some crazy chance, we win this year, it would be polite for the "We can still win" crowd to not say "I told you so" and let us all enjoy it.
