That is a pretty nice trade.

I think Monta would be a nice fit in Indiana. Give Indiana more dribble penetration. George Hill is big enough to defend the two and allow Monta to defend opposing PGs.

Danny Granger gets Milwaukee away from those small backcourts. Ends that idiotic Monta + Jennings combination. Can start building a proper basketball team.

Dalembert would obviously be a big improvement to the backup center position for Boston.

I do worry about Bass though. Big contract. Unneeded in Indiana. The Pacers and Bucks could just make a Granger for Monta swap and leave the Celtics out of the deal to avoid Bass' bad contract.

It would probably need to be Courtney Lee instead. Maybe going to Milwaukee to replace Monta Ellis as starting SG. Play in between Jennings and Granger. That would be a good three man perimeter rotation. A nice low usage shooter / defender. Exactly what Jennings and Granger need. With a cap makeweight heading to Indiana.

Interesting. One of the better ideas I've seen throw around here. Opens up Jennings to take over as the predominant ball pounder in Bucktown. I have no problem swapping Bass with Sammy. Ellis in Indy could work pretty well if he bought into the system. West, George, and Ellis with Hibbert in the middle is a nice lineup for them.

Must be nice to be sitting at a three seed with a team playing very well while also having an asset like Granger to use as trade bait.

Don't see why Indiana wouldn't just take Dalembert and his expiring deal....

Boston would have to throw in another asset to get in on this deal IMO.

With Hansbrough and West they really don't need Bass and his contract. Dalembert would be a nice backup to Hibbert, but more importantly he is an expiring deal.

I like the deal.

Bass has value to the Pacers because he is a good team defender and gives them insurance should David West leave in the off season.

TP for coming up with one of the more realistic trade deals in quite a while.

I do think the other comments about Indy and the Bucks doing a deal just between themselves would be the only hangup on this.

all fair points made about mil/ind just leaving us out of the deal but like a poster above said, I think Bass gives them nice insurance as both Phsyco T and David West are free agents after this season. With all the money tied up in Hibbert and soon George, I don't see how they sign both of their PF free agents.

Maybe we throw in a future second?

I would be pretty excited to get out of Bass's contract and land an actual center but I wonder how our line-up's would look...

I think we would need to give up a bit more for that. Maybe a couple 2nd rounders or so.

Other than that, that's a very good trade. I like it for us. I think it also improves both teams in Indy and Milwaukee. I just don't think Bass alone would be enough.

Any other thoughts on this trade? I'm still pushing for it!

What else would we have to give?
