Where's Brad Miller?
-
Shelden Williams is also a former Celtic.

done fixing it

You should take JaJuan off the list. We can't re-acquire him even though he's been waived. There is a 1-year period of no re-acquiring.
I voted for Kenyon Martin and Ben Wallace. Martin is available for the minimum and if KG signs off on him he'd be a great player for us. Wallace is probably less plausible but I've always liked him as a player.
-
I voted for Whiteside for his length and shot blocking. He is pretty athletic as well but thin.

is ben wallace still a good player? saw him in chicago and cleveland, actually he wants to come back to detroit but the roster is full before this season

that was a little more painful than I expected

There are some good players in this list. KMartin, Curry, Fesenko

How about TJ Ford?
He retired in 2012 due to constant back issues, but he's only 29.
Only a few months after he retired, he was already tweeting about a possible comeback.
Too much basketball left in @tj_ford feeling like I continue to get better. Not sure what I'm doing but we will see #lovethegame
My mind playing tricks on me. " my mind telling try to comeback but Will see what the body says
He's had a year to rest his back. He's probably in shape, despite the constant injuries, he's never seemed like the kind of guy to have conditioning issues. Relatively young NBA veteran. If healthy, better than any other available free agent guard.
Because if there's one thing the Celtics need, it's another guy with career threatening injuries that could miss the entire season at the drop of a hat. ;)
Or is this thread big guys only? Just throwing it out there though, I would at least call the guy, see where he's at and gauge any interest. Need to look in creative places at times like these.

Alot of votes for K-Mart so far..but wonder why he isnt playing anywhere right now?
-
Think Chris Johnson completed a deal to finish the season with the Wolves
-
Kenyon Martin and DJ White top the list.
Henry Sims was mentioned before. I have never seen him play but he sounds interesting.
-
Obviously, Danny and Doc would have to make sure guys are in shape and ready to play in our system.
Keeping that in mind, I would rather see the Celtics play a few of their own D-leaguers: Fab Melo, Chris Wright, DeJuan Summers. You got one 7-ft center and two 6'9" PFs right there. All rebound and all can score.
But, if Danny is looking outside the organization for a bit of experience and ready-talent, I would look hard at Fesenko and Martin.
Fesenko could be another big off the bench to supplant Collins if he happens to rack up fouls or be ineffective against certain teams. He's a huge guy who is good on the glass, and I believe he could learn enough next to KG to be useful in spots.
Martin could spell Bass and has a knack for scoring and playing some tough, though not consistent, defense. I was never in favor of bringing in Martin when we had Sully and Bass, but now that Sully is out I think Martin could slide in for 10-15mpg. And, if he's not happy about that after three weeks, cut him.
I was intrigued by Henry Sims out of college, but it seems he just doesn't have what it takes. When you're only 23 years-old and you're taller than 7-ft, you should have a job in the NBA. I know that's painting with a wide brush, but I watched him play at Georgetown and he has talent. Also, we already have Fab Melo, so there would be no point in signing him.
I tell you one thing: Shelden Williams would be the last guy I picked. I would pick up PSY before Shelden "Let's throw the pass right to the Lakers" Williams.

Think Chris Johnson completed a deal to finish the season with the Wolves
He's on his second ten-day contract. The T-Wolves have two players on their second ten-day contracts and a temporary 16th roster spot due to injury hardship. There are rumors they are trying to deal Lou Amundson so they can keep both CJ and Mickael Gelabale when their ability to carry 16 players expires. If Amundson and his minimum contract can be had for a second-round pick, that would be better than many of the listed options.
I lean towards Sims because he is the most likely to be a useful player next season who might become a potential trade asset for the future.
-
I voted trade. Alot of those guys have played themselves out of the league.
-
Nobody jumped on my Hassan Whiteside bandwagon. Perhaps I should have made a more detailed argument. Go take a look at his rebounding numbers per 48 minutes and his blocked shots.
I'd also get a look at Chris Wright. When I've watched the Maine games he hasn't played particularly hard... or well but his rebound numbers are pretty good and he is hitting free throws now. He isn't a power forward as has been mentioned on this board. He is more of a 3 at 6 8" and not beefy. He does get a lot of rebounds for a 3 but man those D-Leaguers miss a lot of shots.
-
Jajuan Johnson can't be signed by the Celtics this season, since they traded him in July. Not that I would sign him anyway.
-
is fysynko really good?
bulls waived him
-
No one really know. Not even Danny,

Martin and Fysenko and it's not even a question of the other scrubs! None of them are gonna take mins from the "scrubs" we already have except maybe Martin.
-
Tony Battie was a celtic. Not that it matters though.
As for me, Fysenko would be the best bet since K-mart is out of shape. Maybe Danny can bring another diamond in a rough from the D-league.

It will depends on what will be his role and how he will fit into the system. I won't expect so much production like most people do here. As long as he is better than Collins, I'm fine with it.
-
I picked Fesenko. Can't be worse than Collins.
-
I don't have a list of small forward free agents but I believe Douglas Roberts and FOrbes are both free agents as is kris Joseph. I would rather see the cs pick up another at who can actually get some minutes and get green more time at pf. Other then a surprise trade we are unlikely to get a rotation worthy big added to this roster so instead commit to small ball for the year.
-
Band-aid fixes all of them and band aids do not hold up under stress that well.....
-
This really depends on health. A lot of guys on that list were playing very well at some point, but then they just broke down. Troy Murphy is the biggest example; he was an all-star caliber player before he hurt his back and he's never been able to keep up with the NBA game since.
I suspect that Fesenko is a similar case. He is utterly huge, but he started having knee problems in 2011. He would have found a place at the end of a bench if he could still move. It is very likely that he is worse than Collins these days.
Ben Wallace is the most interesting name to me.
