Title: Celtics/Kings trade, helps this year AND for the future
Post by: gpap on January 30, 2013, 10:22:32 PM
So a couple notes on tonight's game and a bad, collective Kings team.

Demarcus Cousins looked miserable tonight. To say he looks disinterested in playing for Sactown is an understatement.

Nonetheless, I think he's still a very talented center.

Tyreke Evans is also really good.

Call me crazy or hasty, but the Sullinger back spasm worries me a bit ONLY because this was the word on him when he was in college, that he had back issues.

Anyway, if the Kings agreed to this deal, I would make it anyday and twice on Sunday.

Helps the Celts for the short term and the long term (since the long term seems to be so important to alot of posters here on CB. ;))

As for Sacramento (or Seattle) they're not going anywhere anytime soon, so maybe they do this for next year and beyond.

Goodness, no.  I don't see how becoming the Kings helps us in the short term or the long term.

Starting five of Tyreke, Lee or Barbosa, Pierce, KG and Cousins.

I'll take that starting five vs Miami anytime!

Tyreke Evans. Or Lee, or Barbosa, or Terry.

Smh are you serious, none of those guys are points guards and the guy who might give you some defense is lee and you think that starting five could challenge the heat, think again

Yup, I've thought about it long and hard. And yup, the Celtics beat the Heat in a 7 game series with that lineup.

Only 1 team in the league is even stupid enough to try Evans at the point and he's on it now.

Evans and Cousins are 2 of the most selfish players in the league.  No way.  BTW I don't think either team would do it.

Tyreke in 2 years will be one of the best PG in the NBA

I wouldn't

Tyreke can't play D, Pierce is getting old and so is KG...Cousins is good but you gotta pair him up with a passing pg...and we aren't getting passed Miami with just Lee d'ing Wade up...its gonna take a combine effort of two good defensive guards like Lee and Bradley to stop or negate Wade from their big 3

Wow, I am surprised no one here would do this trade.

Between Sully and Bradley, you have two talented two players but also two guys who could just as easily go down with injuries for a LONG time.

I say deal them while their stock is high for talent that can help you compete this year.

Lest we forget, our biggest need is still center which Cousins would fill.

We still don't have a true center on the team.

No one is trading Rondo for value after an ACL tear.

You might get garbage contracts and a pick or two but that's it. You're not getting a blue chip prospect like cousins, or even a red chip one like Evans.

Well, that's a different issue. You could be right. I was thinking for the Kings this would be more for next season.

Lol....it's more realistic he's out of the league then one of the best point guards....he's not a point guard.

Tremendous value for Boston.  We'd make out like bandits.  In a way it makes sense for Seattle since they can tank while they wait for rondo to return.  Unfortunately, nobody would dare trade for rondo at this point.  Even fully healthy rondo didn't have enough trade value to net injury plagued steph curry...  And now there's a good chance he will never play another professional basketball game.  This deal has no shot of happening

I would like to maybe get Tyreke from them. Would be a good fit right now without Rondo cause he can get to the rim. He and Bradley would be a fun backcourt. But i am thinking short term and wouldn't know what they would do when Rondo comes back.

Then they can make the trade next season, after they have some idea how Rondo has recovered.

I would make that deal if we could keep Bradley. And they could keep Tyreke because we need a PG. Freddette & Bradley would be a ok match at PG, change of pace & styles you look for in being unpredictable. If Bradley struggling Jimmy can come in & light it up! Pick-n-roll Freddette & Garnett would be deadly.

good lord no. NO. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

horrible deal.

Hayes is over paid for 3 years.  Fredette is a waste of a roster spot from what I've seen.  Tyreke has not improved since his rookie year and seems to be regressing.  Cousins didn't look all that impressive in the last game.

I'm not shipping out all the young players we have for 1 young center that's yet to be consistant and a SG posing as a PG who's regressing on the floor and then 2 players that would be waiver wire candidates in their last contract year.

Wow. What no way.

Cousins is a great asset but not that good to give up every young player we have. Evans stinks and has stunk since his rookie year. Hayes is even more undersized than our undersized power forwards. And Fredette. Wow. No. No. No.

No thanks.

Me as a Sonics fan does not like the deal because you are trading me damaged goods across the board for all my young talent.
