Title: Sullinger's back
Post by: CelticConcourse on January 30, 2013, 10:09:26 PM
What now...?  :-[

And I don't mean Sullinger is back (is returning)
I mean his back (the body part)

he's back!  ;D

who cares, he fell to us in the draft for a reason... so he had a spasm. itll probably happen throughout his career. a spasm isnt as bad as something like a hernia...

he has been solid this entire season. so he has missed 1 game out of 42... ill take that.

If hes back the next game playing well then i think its ok. If he misses the next game or comes back looking banged up we might have a problem.

If they're being cautious, give him the week off.

I'd rather that than future reoccurring problems.

Also, they still have roster spots to sign another player (just in case!).

Luckily, Wilcox just returned, so they probably won't need to.

He will be back. Otherwise i felt very comfortable with Wilcox and KG out there. We really got to trade bass for another pf with height or at least willingness to battle down low. Hayes for example would be an upgrade. He is an inch shorter too

if it is only muscular, then maybe it wont bother him much. if it is disk trouble, he and the celtics are in trouble.

this also means that possibly for the next games the celtics will only have 10 players suit up.

Put it this way, if we still had a shot of a good record without Rondo, there's no shot whatsoever of maintaining if Sullinger's "red flag" suddenly becomes a real issue.

I wouldn't say that still. It's have to be KG or Pierce... Then we will have problems till 2045-46. Jk. We can take adversity,

I hope this ain't a big problem. Anyone got a video if where he got hurt?

Not surprised.  There was a reason so many teams passed on him because of those "red flags."

For all we know this could be the start of endless games where Sully doesn't play because of back spasms or bulging disks.

Players have back spasms. It happens. If that's all this is, I'm not worried.

Oh yeah, Sully's great value at 21.  I was just pointing out that these are the risks that made teams pass on him.

Hope this doesn't ruin what will surely be a legendary career

Your general negativity deviates quite far from the mean.

Hey man, Sullinger is my favorite player on the team other than KG.  Some nights this season he's been the only bright spot.

So news that he might miss some time, so soon after Rondo was lost for the season, is pretty good reason to be negative in my book.

I felt the same way when I found out he went back to the locker room. We knew this would eventually happen, though. Just need to wait and see if/how well it can be managed, over time...

Is Green not a bigger concern for you? I am tempted to make threads about his passivity/underachievement every other day. Have you not the urge to place your negativity in his direction!?
