Well Sully looks like he was hobbling pretty good , went to the locker room and been in there a while .
God, I hope we don't have to watch Bass starting if Sully is injured bad.
-
back spasms, hope it isn't caused by the bulging disk ....
-
he's returning to the game, its just a spasm. its like a cramp.

maybe they're getting a lil extra cautious because of Sully's history with his back issues... nevertheless, not a good sign
-
Let's see what happens and how long he might be out.
-
Rumor: Sully out for 4-6 weeks...

I took it as just a precaution for the game and not a long term issue.

Bad joke / false rumor, I think.

Yep. Tbh, OttawaCeltic has been spamming bad info everywhere :( Untrustworthy source.
-
Back spasms are really bad especially the type of way Sully plays
-
Did I hear right? Sully coming back next game?
Edit: heard it in the Comcast stream
-
Who knows back spasms are tricky and impossible to predict.

We can look at Marshawn Lynch as an example of this.
He was questionable basically every game this season.
-
Hopefully sully is alright. I kind of took tonight as them being cautious...I mean when you are up 20points, why bring him back in?
-
This is almost as bad as knee-jerk loss post. Grow up
yea, I guess it's pretty dumb to be concerned about back spasms for a player that has a bulging disk, how silly of me..... ::)

You couldn't wait to post this... You think a player who slid in the draft for back-related issues WASN'T going to eventually experience them post-draft? Have you heard something from the Celtics medical staff we aren't aware of? Relax buddy ::)

you're so spot on, I was waiting for our best rebounder and trade chip to get injured. Awesome!

Why are you getting so defensive? Nothing in the OP should have caused you to get this angry, relax.

Who's angry ..... ? I prefer objective. Thanks though

Arizona medical staff and trainers ARE meant to be the cream of the crop but I refuse to believe that Boston don't have world class people working with their organisations.

Enough bickering. This hasn't been CelticsBlog's finest example of a thread.

Who knows back spasms are tricky and impossible to predict.
I still have nightmares from the orgy of back spasm issues during the original Big Three era.
Has medical treatment improved significantly since then?
-
Wilcox showed signs of good play. I expect Chis play better in whirlwind fast pace game Lee and Bradley play.
Side note Sully seems to picked up weight.
Food is his enemy.
-
Just have Sully take some antler spray and he'll be okay.

We don't want him to get in trouble.
Just have him drink Badger milk.
-
He's young and the C's also have a good medical team. He'll be back. No need to panic.

Not sure where you are getting this from.

A lot of less than stellar examples lately . . . .

Don't want to point any fingers, but there has been a considerable influx of fresh blood on the forums, too... Go figure.

Maybe I missed this, but when did Danny say there wouldn't be any moves unless someone else gets injured? That does not sound like him.

it was in the Adrian Wojnarowski article a few days ago, anyone have a link?

My guess would be he said something along the lines "I don't expect us to make any deals unless someone gets injured". Then again, this is not exactly "there won't be any moves".

I think that's the article. I'm not sure which quote is being referred to, though.
-
"In our situation, you can't just philosophically say, 'We're going to do this,' " Ainge told Yahoo! Sports. "You have to tell me what it is. You have to tell me what opportunities we have."
"Here's the thing: If I wanted to say, 'Hey, let's play for the future,' that's hard to do. And if I play only for the 'here and now,' that's hard to do."
Those kinds of trades are hard to do, Ainge meant.
"I'm going to look and see what opportunities are there, like any other year," Ainge said. "Last year, I was close to making a change that I felt would give us a better chance in the here and now, and in the future. And those are hard to do."
There are point guards available to get the Celtics through the season, and Ainge says he'll meet with his front office and coaches on Monday to begin discussing them.
I'm not sure where this idea that they are not making a trade unless there are other injuries comes from. These quotes are from the Wojo article.
While Wojo pointed out that "blowing it up" is easier said than done in todays NBA, he never said that Danny wouldn't make trades.

He definitely said something along the lines of, we aren't going to be making any moves unless someone else goes down. Maybe it was just a tweet, but definitely remember reading it a few days ago.
I'll try to find it

sorry , it was from a Mark Murphy article
“We’re not bringing anybody in yet — we’re not rushing into anything,” said Ainge. “We like the guys that we have now. (Leandro) Barbosa has only played for the last couple of games, and we have to see more of him. If there’s another injury, then we may need to go get someone.

is he only talking about guards ? or if anyone gets injured?

The context is about guards.

Eh, this is very liberal interpretation of that quote IMO. To me, that reads that he was talking just about the PG position. And even with that, that they weren't going to panic and make a move immediately, because they have enough guys to hold down the fort at the moment. However, if another injury happens, then they will have no choice but to make an immediate move (which would more likely be signing a 10 day contract, not a trade).
-
With Rondo done for the year, Sully experiencing back spasms, and Fab Melo's strained quad, we only have 10 healthy bodies available. And honestly, I would say it's really 9 1/2 because Wilcox is a jammed finger away from being out for weeks. Having said that, I think Danny needs to add a big (even if it's just a 10-day thing). In other threads I've been pushing for Chris Wright, but I'd be open to adding a vet too.

Hey, an opportunity for Bass to step up!!!!
Next man up, guys!!!
Perhaps this builds up Bass' trade value and we can trade him to Phoenix for Marcin Gortat.
-
well If that list only included pg's before, better make it for bigs too. Sully out for the year.
Hopefully now we can just blow it up and get some decent picks
-
Literal blow it up time.

You wanna know something, I think that he will.
-
I think Fab Melo will step it up!
-
I think Fab Melo will step it up once his quad heels.... If he's not moved!
-
Doesn't it seem like there is less reason to force a trade before the deadline now? The Celtics would be trading from a position of weakness now (the in-season, we need to make moves teams almost always are). This season most probably won't end in a championship now, so rather than make a rash move just to do something is it not better to wait and actually plan wisely for the future?
I just don't get the blow it up hastily argument. If you want big changes do it in the off-season with a little more clarity and strength of position. Been thinking this all year and this sad news only furthers that. Just feels like all the calls for fire him, trade him, blow it up are rash emotional responses that bare little relation to how to best go about the future.
-
With Wilcox, Collins (cringe) and Green available to absorb Sully's minutes, I don't think Ainge is going to feel too desperate to add another player in the short-term.
-
Collins is the worst player in the NBA
