I think so, with this happening with Rondo he's going to hang em up he wont stick around and rebuild. It's sad that we might have seen KG and Rondo's last game together two brothers super close. I can't imagine what that locker room was like after tonights game.
-
I'm not sure, it's possible...He did sign a three year deal though, so obviously he was initially planning on going more than 1 more year. Out with KG in with Josh Smith then.

Nope.

No. Not even close. -.-

Kevin Garnett is a ballplayer...what will he do if he retires. When Kevin retires I hope it is because he feels he has given all he has and leaves it all out on the court. I dont want him to retire because Rondo got injured, or PP got traded. I hope KG retires a Celtic after leaving everything on the floor, then I hope he joins Doc's staff coaching the Celtics.

If anything, I think it makes it less likely Garnett retires.
KG came back for another shot at a title. Rondo's injury robbed him of that shot. He'll want to come back next year and give it (at least) one more go with Rondo and Pierce.
-
It's a great story to go out on top, but I think KG will come back next season to defend the title.

More Banner I love your optimism and I am glad to give you your 100th TP. Good Job...

Darn it, Ogaju beat me to it, but that post deserves its 101st Tommy Point.

I think he'll come back to play with Rondo again, they seem very close.

I do think he loves to play and compete, and he still can for sure. Whatever happens with Rondo matters less than what happens with Paul. I think they have a strong mutual respect and seem to really want to ride off together.
They need a bigger horse than either of them are today to get there, though.
My gut (as good a source as anything these days) tells me that when Wyc looks at his options, the best thing, both now and in the future, is to keep those two together. The benefits are both on the court and in the ticket and merchandise booths.
My gut also tells me that KG and Paul have some influence on where they go, or at least would be consulted and make up their mind before the deal is consumated as to how they'd respond (i.e. trade and retire).
But what makes the most sense is to see if there is a Rondo/1st/cash-centered package that could put this team over, and I think we'd have a nice package for Pau Gasol.

The guy we saw out there today can be the difference for any top level team winning a title. This was the KG we saw 2nd half of last year and the one who's shown up occasionally this season. They guy still has plenty left in the tank.
