Boston starts Lowry, Bradley, Pierce, Garnett and Cousins with Barbossa, Evans, and Bass off the bench. That is a championship 8 man rotation.
LA trades a starter that doesn't fit for two starters that do, and a bench. No brainer for them.
Toronto dumps a dead-weight contract and their backup point guard for an all-star center.
Sacremento gets the best player in the deal, changes the culture and makes room for Robinson as a starter.

Yeah, but why would TOR Want Pau Gasol? They aren't going anywhere and by the time they are he'll be much too old.

Couple of reasons for Toronto:
- Gasol might get them into the playoffs
Gasol - Valanciunas is a decent front line
Lowry is an expensive backup point guard @ $6m per season
Bargnani is a bad contract on that team - 3 years, $33m
They can let Gasol expire and get $20m under the cap next year
Would you trade your backup point guard and a bad contract for Gasol?

That trade would lead to Pierce KG and Terry all retiring after this season. I dont see that team being championship caliber now or in the future.

Too many pieces. Toronto wouldnt want Gasol. We get a ton of talent back but it just wouldn't work out.
