Knicks' Anthony waits for Garnett by team bus
http://soc.li/KJ83tJB (http://soc.li/KJ83tJB)
Lets see how the league reacts to this!
(notice a certain Celtic PG walk up towards the end of the video?)
-
The video didn't show much. It really was all about him waiting. I liked how Rondo sauntered in at the end and wanted to know what was up.
-
KG would have beat the pulp out of that overweight loser.
melo to kg: meet me after the game outside
*goes to celtic bus with 100 cops*
-

The fact that he's there waiting as the police get in position is clear trouble. Period.

LOL sounds like the Melo we all know

That was cute. Rondo will probably get a three game suspension for that.

Huh? The police got into position? The police didn't do anything out of the norm. If they thought Carmelo was a threat, he would've been cleared out of there. All Carmelo was doing was standing, peacefully, beside a bus in a crowd of people. Maybe something when on but this video was short and didn't capture it.
-
apparently there was a scuffle between kg and melo
Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Garnett got into an altercation in the bowels of Madison Square Garden after the Boston Celtics' 102-96 win over the New York Knicks on Monday and building security was called upon to defuse the incident, two sources with knowledge of the incident told ESPNNewYork.
"It was like being in the school yard," one witness to the incident said.
The two stars did not come to blows. But Anthony was still hot after getting into a confrontation with Garnett in the second half of the Celtics' win.
-
Haha..Melo and NY expected BOS to just give up without Rondo.
Instead, BOS pushed back.
If NY chooses to go down this road, they will certainly lose every time.
Does Melo REALLY want to get into mental games with this guy:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8wGVZpKQUsU
KG's on a whole other level from Melo. I hope he backs down, because all KG needs is a bit of motivation and Melo just bought NY a world of hurt.
Melo simply cannot battle KG on a mental level...can't do it.
-
It will be all KG's fault , no matter what happens...Carmelo is a wierdo and creep.... and low life ..following a guy to the bus to pick a fight...give me a break.,.. GROW up Creep!!
AND PEOPLE THINK COUSINS and RONDO are bad... ???
Of couse STERN TURD will punish Rondo, for just being IN NYC , same Zip code and KG , for being alive and breathing I guess.
-
how can you guys tell that that's Rondo at the end? lol
-
i dont see rondo but i think thats doc in the far back?
-
how can you guys tell that that's Rondo at the end? lol
his ET-shaped head is easily identifiable.
-
i dont see rondo but i think thats doc in the far back?
He's on the left side near the bus. About 38 secs into the clip
-

yup saw him.
-
Rondo get your stank butt in the shower look at him in his sweats looking like he woke from a nap
He's ready to ride for KG though ;D
-
What is this guys issue? What's next Melo waits for kg outside of Boston garden and misses his next game?
-

I thought when you were suspended you weren't even allowed in the building?
-
Melo waiting at bus...
Maybe he needed a ride home ???
-
Rondo is the one with his hand covering his mouth saying, "you won't do anything, you don't have the balls to do anything."
-
Props to both those guys for not simply cashing that cheque, though.
I, for one, thoroughly enjoyed that game. So what if the players got heated? It shows they care. The league office "should" probably fine/suspend 'melo for a game, but this is all much ado about nothing.
-

Or maybe he came to apologize, and say "no hard feelings"?
Who knows. Frankly, I don't really care. The Cs won, and have been playing much better the last few games. That's all I care.

He just woke up from a nap on the bus, and saw a dude that looked like Carmelo, wearing a purple beanie, so he had to inquire.
-

Much ado about nothing? Let's take the same facts and replace Melo with Meta and do you think it would be much ado about nothing for the league?
-
Shady lurker on the prowl.. Melo your better than this. :'(
Oh that's right. Your actually NOT.

No, I think the Association's prerogative is to make sure people don't think that the best basketball players in the world are real people with emotions that include anger, frustration, etc. It affects their technical foul policy, the way they interact (read: fine) players when they display any kind of defiance, and all manner of other things, including relatively innocuous stuff like the dress code and mandatory NBA Cares involvement (not to say it's all negative, I think NBA Cares is a great idea).
The NBA wants the public to feel safe around NBA players. When emotions get heated, people feel anxiety. So they step in and over-react to a situation like Rondo bumping the ref or the incident last night.
I just don't agree with it. Shouting, talking some **** and calmly waiting outside a bus? I understand that the league office feels they've got to come down with the hammer--and even if they don't they've set that precedent already--but personally I stand by my sentiment.
-
Eh, I don't mind the on the court stuff nearly as much as the sheer stupidity of Melo trying to provoke an incident outside the locker room and at the team bus. He "calmly" waited at the bus with 10 guys forming a wall and cameras on him.
Nothing good can come of players doing that, he'll be fined at a minimum and I wouldn't be shock if he missed a game for it.
-
I'm actually a Melo fan, but doesn't his behavior the whole night strike you as a little erratic? He looked to me like he was even trying to provoke Jeff Green during the game by getting up in his face the 2nd half. And the stuff after the game...stuff that makes you go hmmmmm...
-
I love how theres a special section in the espn front page dedicated to this
http://espn.go.com/
its like they wanted to make this the top story but cant because of the ncaa championship, so theyre settling with that.
-
News at 11, tough guy shows up for fight he knows will never happen with dozens of security and police officers. I say no suspensions or fines for anyone, every little action that may be deemed negative does not warrant a response for dictator Stern.

This. I'm sick and tired of fake "tough guy" behavior by pansy basketball players. If you're genuinely that torn up about something a guy has said and you had 10 minutes when you were next to him on a court, why not just fight him then? Why wait until after the game at the bus with tons of cameras and security. I know the answer. Melo was never going to fight anyone. He just wanted to be a crybaby and grab heaps of attention for it.
What a pile of nonsense.

KG obviously crossed the line with whatever he said...same guy who once taunted Tim Duncan on mothers day because his mom recently passed.

Eh...You cant fight in the NBA? maybe thats why. you beat them playing basketball. and youre sick of fake tough guys? you mean like KG?
-

theres no line to cross... Anything goes on a basketball court.
-

Why do you think he crossed such a line? Melo has always been a pouty hot head on the court when his offense isn't going.
I think several elbows in the post would be more than enough to set him off. But its KG so naturally its somehow on him that Melo thought he was Dale Davis.
-
lol at melo....the same guy that ran down the other end of the court after wanting to be a "tough guy" when he was on denver vs the knicks, lol

Let's say youre Carmelo Anthony.
All this waiting outside the lockerroom and bus stuff is clearly to make it look like you want to have a proper confrontation with this guy and appear like you don't care about sanctions yeah?
Its not like you will avoid a sanction for doing that anyway, despite it not being on the basketball court.
You had at least 10 minutes on the court to have a confrontation with this guy and you didn't, so obviously you're just severely butthurt about getting trash talked and having a crap night shooting the basketball.
About as fake as it gets.

Maybe he just wanted an autograph, or see what a championship ring looks like?

beat me to it. the other likely option is that he was there to ask the team how he can force a trade to the C's so he'll know what it's like to play for a real contender.
-
Whats Melo taking out of his pockets?
Was that KG walking right by Melo?
Doc is there chillin like "This Melo has lost his mind!"
Rondo like "Whats good?"
Absolutely Hilarious Video.
-
Lol I'm not sure where this came from, but someone just told me that Melo was p---ed, because KG told him his wife "tasted like honey nut cheerios" ... I don't care if it's made up, I'm choosing to believe it. KG is awesome.

Thank you. Like okay *shoulder shrug*. And they're supposed to be scared? They probably can't wait til the 24th to give them another loss.
It seems like the Knicks are really fired up about this while the Celtics are just moving on to the next game.

And people are getting mad at KG calling him all types of names because he trash talked and shut Melo down mentally.
If they're mad over KG then I know they would probably fight Reggie Miller and Gary Payton for their trash talking.
eta:he probably went too close to home I will say.

Try looking up Honey Nut Cheerios in the urban dictionary and I think maybe the quote was a bit off.

It's a probably untrue article Simmons linked to on twitter:
http://blacksportsonline.com/home/2013/01/kevin-garnett-allegedly-told-carmelo-anthony-his-wife-tastes-like-honey-nut-cheerios/
-
probably already been linked to, but apparently they squashed the beef about the honey nut cheerios: http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/225490/Anthony_Garnett_Settle_Beef_With_Phone_Call
Btw... I can confirm speculation that Melo's wife does indeed taste like honey nut cheerios.
-
**** KG is awesome.
-
Man I love kg, but sometimes he does cross the line. Correct me if I'm wrong, but just after Tim Duncan's mum died, he said "happy Mother's Day". You just don't say things like that.

"It's certain things that you just don't say to men, another man," Anthony said. "I felt that he crossed the line. Like I said, we're both at an understanding right now, we handled it the way we handled it. Nobody needs to know what was said behind closed doors. So that situation is handled. I just wanted to know what was being said, where was all that coming from. Whatever was being said on the basketball court, where was it coming from?"
He apparently wanted to know how KG knew LaLa tasted like Honey Nut Cheerios.

Not to say he doesn't "cross the line" (for example, the Charlie V incident), but I haven't seen the actual source of this rumor, as far as I can tell it looks like an internet myth, spurred on by the speculation Duncan hates KG.

I thought, in the Charlie v incident he said he was cancerous, not that he had cancer. Ever since sealy died he seemed a bit borderline nasty, before that he wasn't as bad
