Should have been David Stern instead of Crawford
-
Funny, but classless. I am sure Crawford got a kick out of it though.
-
Ehh I don't think it's that big a deal
-
I don't like the Spurs, but that's brilliant. It's hilarious.
Crawford may have a giggle about it, but he'll be laughing maniacally in his heart when he screws the Spurs time and again during the remainder of his career. You can bet he'll never forget this.
Stern, meanwhile, is drawing up the latest paperwork to fine Duncan and Parker. I'd say the flak he caught from fining the organization a week ago would be enough to steady his hand this time, but this is Stern we're talking about. Both players are getting fined.

Yeah, I think a fine probably is in order. The league has been working hard to distance themselves from the whole thug and gun thing that had really reached a highpoint with Arenas a few years ago. I don't think they will have a sense of a humor about this.
The ref part isn't an issue, but players posing with guns...even fake ones...goes against the way the league is trying to market themselves.
-
I am not sure how anyone can say this is a big deal. They are Halloween outfits. Come on?
-
this is being taken way too seriously. they are having fun and it was halloween. it is obviously not to be taken seriously.
-
I am not a Spurs fan, but that's brilliant!
Imagine the uproar if that was KG and Rondo?

Yeah I was wondering myself how much the fines will be for this one. Two strikes in one week for the Spurs. Ouch.

While I agree, I don't think the NBA will have that much of a sense of humor when it comes to the gun violence angle.
-
It seems like it's in poor taste, but if that's the worst thing Parker and Duncan do in their long and classy careers- whatever.
-

While I do agree the gun usage will be a major factor in the fines, don't underestimate Stern's belief that posing with an official in that manner undermines the integrity of the game.
Ha! I just wrote 'integrity' and 'Stern' in the same sentence.
Seriously, though. As awful as Stern is and as ironic as it will be, he'll take into account the integrity of the league. You cannot have players pointing fake guns at a person dressed up as a real official (as silly as that sounds).
-
Dumb move. It shouldn't matter, but it will. Guns, hostile showings against refs, etc. Bad timing. These guys should know better then to do stuff like that when cameras are around.
-
Duncan is having an amazing start to this season. Statistically he's the 4th best player in the league so far... #1 per 48 minutes.
-
This is clearly robbing the fans' image of TD and TP....
-
wow its Halloween -__- .....why do they need to get fined for dressing up for Halloween smh. I swear when you get famous the whol "having fun\ freedom of speech" thing goes out the window.
-
Should the league take action? No.
Will they? I say yes. Stern is a classic micro manager on things like this.
-
What's embarrassing about this?
Joey Crawford is a tool. It's a joke.
-

If it were KG and Rondo, the media would attack them and call them out in a negative way.
I find it funny how the biased the media is towards certain players.
Personally I don't find what's so serious about it. It was Halloween and I bet they never thought the picture would leak through the media.
Stern will fine them though.
-
I always liked Timmy and Tony, and now I like 'em even more.
This is a joke with probably fake guns. What's the big deal?
-
Showing up to a Spurs Halloween party dressed as Joey Crawford? I say this guy had it coming.
-
It's a Halloween photo meant to be funny - and it's also not meant to be seen by the general public. Talk to them, warn them against doing it again, but I don't think it deserves punishment.
-
While I don't really care and TD and Parker as classy as players can be in the NBA [especially Duncan], this will elicit some kind of fine and probably should. Guns pointed at a ref, even in jest, just isn't something the league is going to laugh about.
If it were somebody like Arenas doing this, then many would agree that action should definitely be taken. But I don't think you can take player reputations into account - no matter how positive they are.
-

Agree with both posters here.
What's funny/ironic is that TD and Parker are 2 of the biggest class acts in the NBA and about to get fined for this pretty funny joke.
-
Funny as heck and we all know nothing would have happened to Wade or LeBron had they done it. It's a league of favorites.
-
It's funny but they will probably get fined- which is understandable. I remember two members of the Australian swimming team were sent home after their event in the Olympics because they posed with guns in some photos in London.
People just overreact to this stuff so much and with the Joey Crawford character being shot by some actual NBA players? I know it's a joke but there are that many morons that will just be horrified at this, the NBA unfortunately MUST do something.
David Stern probably finds it funny too but he has to uphold a standard and set a solid precedent.
-
Imagine the reaction if people thought Violet Palmer was biased against the Spurs/Duncan and someone was portraying her instead of Crawford in that picture.
