According to ESPN and Derek Fisher, he is close to returning to the NBA after finding a suitable situation with an NBA squad. Two thing indicate to me it might be with the us.
1. The team isn't named in the report. Obviously signing with the Celtics would hurt his Laker legacy, and the reason the story isn't title "Derek Fisher Reportedly Close to Returning to The NBA with the Boston Celtics" is so he won't tarnish his legacy unless he is certain the deal is solid.
2. The celtics have a roster spot open and need a back up point guard.
Thoughts?
-
Cleveland? Irving out a month.
LA? Blake and Nash injuries more serious than expected.
-
I bet on my life its not the Celtics. They already have five guards. No need for another one when what the C's really need is a defensive big.

Wouldn't expect it to be Cleveland. I think he wants to be on a contender. It's down to three teams according to the story, i'm betting we are one of them.

Nah with avery coming back soon no need for another guard
-
He promised the Celtics that he would not rebound and lose focus while playing once in a while like Green.
Nah, its not us. Why do we need another guard when we already have Rondo, Terry, Barbosa, Lee, and Bradley.
-
No more scrub signings please. If we're going to make a move, it needs to be big in order for us to move forward, not laterally.
-
So we have extra insurance when we trade Lee's uselss butt away for some ex-cheerleader who would play for less money and play far better.

words are saying he is signing with the Mavs
