Title: COACHES:
Post by: Rtpas11 on November 28, 2012, 06:44:10 AM
Keith Smart of the Sacramento Kings needs to be FIRED! He's horrible. I still don't get why he doesn't use his best line up which is

pg= Tyreke Evans
Sg = Marcus Thorton
Sf = John Salmons
Pf = Jason Thompson
C= Demrcus Cousins

This coach needs to be let go!

Monty Williams of the New Orleans Hornets is a great coach in very bad situation. I love his coaching, his team plays their hearts out, but they just aren't that talented.

Jacque Vaughn falls under the Monty category. I'm not sure about being great but he's good in a bad situation

more to come......gtg

You can't really play those guys together. A score-first PG like Tyreke Evans is a really bad fit at PG alongside two shot-happy non-passing wings like Marcus Thornton and John Salmons. Too much selfishness. Tyreke needs low usage wings with good ball-handling and passing (say Wes Matthews and Tayshaun Prince).

Add Cousins on top of that bad perimeter mix and you have another player who demands a lot of touches/shots and his moodiness when he doesn't get them. Plus, Cousins and J.Thompson are iffy jump-shooters which creates spacing issues for a slasher like Tyreke who needs superior floor spacing to take full advantage of his dribble penetration and finishing around the basket (plus ability to get to FT line). As a group, it doesn't function well. Lots of bad fits. No cohesiveness. Bad chemistry. Don't complement one another.

I do agree that Keith Smart should be fired. He is bad for Tyreke Evans. Sacramento cannot afford to sacrifice a high-potential guy like Tyreke in order to let low-potential guys like Isiah Thomas and Marcus Thornton succeed. It's dumb. Smart had problems with Steph Curry in Golden State too. I wouldn't let him anywhere near a talented young guard / up and coming team at this point.

I would like to see Keith Smart coach a veteran team though. He might be good at that.

Evans already had his chance at PG and proved that he cant run an offense. He struggles at the point position. Salmons best days are behind him because like someone else said he doesnt pass the ball.

Any line up the Kings throw on the floor is not going to succeed anyway.

I think there would literally be fistfights on the court over who gets to shoot the ball, if you put that lineup out there together.

Just the combo of Tyreke and Cousins is an incredible challenge for a coach. Cousins is an offensive disaster most nights, but you have to keep him involved or he'll quit on you entirely.

I laughed when I saw that the Kings announcers were "excited" about Brooks/Evans combo's chemistry in the backcourt last night. Not a long term solution....
