Series should be over. If our 4 future hall of famers can't beat a crappy Philly team that barely even made the playoffs... that's shameful.wow of all people surprised you see us getting past the Heat
We couldn't have gotten an easier path to the Finals than the one we are getting. No more excuses. Get it done so we can take our lashings against the Spurs or Thunder.
dooling is a gametime decision

Best of luck to everyone here. Go Celtics. I may not be able to watch since I left the States and in a mountain resort in Canada.I believe it's on TSN2. Maybe you can find it being shown there somewhere.
I wanted to finish up Wednesday night so I would not have to bother the Canadien bar tenders but oh well.
I've been watching Ray Allen a lot closer during his pre-game drills. Today is the best I've seen him shoot in a LONG time! -- A. Sherrod Blakely (@SherrodbCSN)
maybe this'll be Rays playoff game . . and not his last as a Celtic!
i know i am going to ruffle some feathers with this...but i would fire doc if we lose this series....injuries aside...he did no special coaching via rotations to try anything....it would be different if it was 2 20 minute halfs...but he has 4 20 minutes q's.......plenty of time to try others when the OLD faithful ain't working....stay with the same formulas...well, you see where that got us......pp, ray.....when they were flat, 2 games so far..it was obvious to a non hoop player.....a seasoned coach......md and sasha sitting there..he froze......and it didn't work.....so he better get a win tonight.....
a little redemption there and some info for some here....the guys with magic said"when you are a jumpshooter, ANY tweak will put your shot off".......why doesn't doc know that..?
I'm shaking right now. Almost too nervous to stream the game.
Rondo and Pierce want this one.see rondo run that one....alone......kg made it though....
Starting unit looks great. Hopefully Doc lets Steamer play. His blocked shots pumps the crowd up big time.not only that, but getting burn in a big game would be good for him
Good. We're not even playing THAT well yet, but so far, no Sixers.
Let's make sure we start playing great (as opposed to just "good") basketball, before they show up.
And right on queue, pushing the ball, and finding Garnett open.Good- was worred they would close it to 10-6. Now winding it out again.
completely outhustled by the 6ers
This rebounding is atrociousNot to mention the shooting. Make those, nevermind the rebounds.
they won't say...but i think rondo has been illing a bit for a while now...it would make sense now.....
As in the previous Celtics breakout, Brand is providing the vet leavening, keeping them in the game.
5-0 Philly on the offensive glass.. Yikes
Refs are freakin awful lets us play what the hell

I have no idea what you are complaining about. I have not seen any bad reffing...yet.
I love how they called Pierce for a handcheck on Igoudala and then let Igoudala mug Pierce on the next freaking play.

No way man, I agree with the original post...the refs for the majority of that first quarter were calling alot of touch fouls.

Maybe I am just in a different zone. I am not interested in the stupid refs - the last thing I want is to have them part of the game. Ill keep a closer eye.

Still though Pierce has got to split those double teams which is what I was expecting coming into this game, he can't be soft he's got to run right through them it's all or nothing.I love how they called Pierce for a handcheck on Igoudala and then let Igoudala mug Pierce on the next freaking play.
Microcosm of the series right there ^.

Jeez, Evan Turner has only shot 34% from the floor this series.
Lou Williams only 35%
rondo had Bass wide open
rondo had Bass wide openI thought I was the only one that saw that.
The absence of the 3-pointer is sucking the dynamism out of our offense.

Yeah the 3 ball has been rough to watch all series. Missed 3s more often than not play right into what Philly wants to do by getting the rebound and running for a transition bucket
Why does Doc love Hollins?
Why does Doc love Hollins?
Why does Doc love Hollins?
Why does Doc love Hollins? In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.
Why does Doc love Hollins?Size and quickness
Soon as Hollins got the offensive board I was just screaming, "THROW IT OUT THROW IT OUT DON'T SHOOT DON'T DRIBBLE THROW IT OUT.....[expletive]."
Soon as the dude puts the ball down its over.
Why did Rond go to Bass over KG Jesus christ
Pierce looks TERRIBLE this is possibly the last hurrah and I can't believe he's come out like this
Why does Doc love Hollins?
7 footer and can run
yea but of the 2 you're better off getting KG easy baskets and goingWhy did Rond go to Bass over KG Jesus christ
It's simple - Rondo is the pg and he believes in every guy on the floor. He saw Bass open and did his job.
I don't like seeing Philly able to hang in despite shooting the ball so poorly.
Bodes badly going forward ...

I know Ray is hurt, but he (as a Celtic) seems to have a lot of bad playoff series.
Ray Allen is getting styled on by Holliday.Ray shouldn't be asked to check a guy like Jrue Holiday. Bad matchup.

Holiday is too quick for him.
I think that makes 4 easy makes at the hoop missed.
philly will get beat in 4 by miami.....if they go there.....

Fundamental layups guys. Use the glass.
That KG dunk would have fired up everybody, I don't like that Bass is our leading scorer says how aggressive our core guys are being this will not get it doneCredit the 6er defense for that as well, mind you.
missed it...but it is so.....philly will get beat in 4 by miami.....if they go there.....
I bet I've said this 25 time past three games.
Even if the celtics win this game, it might be one of the most underwhelming game seven wins ever for this team.

Who on the court isn't too quick for him with his bum ankle and bone spurs?

It's that or Lou Williams.
Doc may go small with Pietrus to try and get out of that match-up.
didn't we have a bad #7 duting the pp and toine years....

If not Pietrus, I'd be willing to give Dooling a few minutes to see what he can do.
Would love to see the next shot fall.Yup. Hardly any minor lapses. Loved the D.
C's played one heck of a defensive half.
THAT history is worth a TP..thanks for the bacckup...! i thought i knew something...LOL....didn't we have a bad #7 duting the pp and toine years....
Yeah Doc's first year here when they got blown out at home to the Pacers.
I would like to see Moore get chance . Ray is pathetic
Well we all knew Rondo was going to get us a low percentage shot, if it wasn't a low percentage 3 from himself he was going to give it to a guy who never shoots threes, he makes the worst decisions with the end of half shot.

You ever play basketball? They were running a play. 1st and second scoring options were not there.
I suggest watching the entire floor during a game to see the guys running off screens not get open.
could anyone imagine that rondo is hurt too....he did get hit 1000 times so far these two series.....he rolls his ankle...but comes back......always....he gets hammered...hesays''''"gimme the ball"....stay with the guy.....no one was on rondo when the rest of the team was 32 or less....!!!

Unless his elbow is bent to 145 degrees, I cannot accept that any injury will impact Rondo tonight.

Yet he has the highest +/- in the game so far, +16.
Also, have a look at how awesome the Philly guards have been so far.

I've been saying that since MONTHS.
Rajon halfway there: 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 points.

MAth people, help me with that. You know the angle I mean.
Over/Under -Steamer playing .5 minutes in the second half
When we go to the bench, I hope we go to Hollins before Stiemsma, and hopefully see him more with KG (I don't think we saw him together at all with KG this time around).
I don't like Stiemsma right now. He's not rebounding, can't move defensively, and can't help Bass defend.
What do bosh..and the new england summer have in common.....MR SOFTEE...LOL....bosh is lucky he is younger than kg...a young kg would eat him up soooo bad....!!!Prime KG vs Prime Bosh... that would certainly be hilarious.
how many open Js does Bass have to miss before Doc sits his butt?
If Boston wins this--and I'm not convinced it will--it will be a miracle.

i think his ankle is not 100%...so that would explain the missed layups...you don't jump to where you think you would be.....:]]could anyone imagine that rondo is hurt too....he did get hit 1000 times so far these two series.....he rolls his ankle...but comes back......always....he gets hammered...hesays''''"gimme the ball"....stay with the guy.....no one was on rondo when the rest of the team was 32 or less....!!!

I think it's not as much the degrees, as it is from where you start. If you start from a stretched out elbow, 5 degrees will hurt.
I'd say from that position though, it was somewhere between 20 and 35 degrees, from memory. I don't care to actually go and measure it, because I'd be fine having to never, ever see that image again.
If anything, I'd reckon back issues. They're so hard to deal with, and he's on the ground with ice-packs (or are they heat-packs?) on his back all the time. They said HERE are the first half HIGHLIGHTS..then they said "okay, there are NO highlights...commercial please.."!!!Hahahaha! The highlights could be KG missing an open layup.

uhh...Bass is 4-7 (best % on the team) and is leading the team in scoring.
being critical is fine, but it should be based in fact

Right. Not even close to true.
Need to get some more scoring from the perimeter players.yeah, someone besides KG, PP and Bass has got to make shots or this won't end pretty
Their fastbreak transition has been awful tonight. There's been at least 3 times this game where they have a 3 on 2, 3 on 1, etc. and come up empty.
come on DOC give us a chance take RAY OUT!! pot SOMEBODY else , even Dooling would be better right now.

I'm honestly not sure what you're talking about. Ray has hustled on D all night and has played good defense. He's guarding younger, more athletic, and bigger players, and he's doing it pretty well.
Which Philly perimeter player is lighting him up? Holiday is 3-for-11. Turner is 3-for-7, AI2 is 2-for-6, Lou Williams is 1-for-3. If Ray's defense is horrible, nobody is really taking advantage of it.
Also, the Celtics are +12 with Ray in there tonight, so again, he's not getting burned.

Sometimes I wonder if some people on this board understand the game at all. If you think Ray is not contributing, you are not watching. Is he lighting it up? Obviously not, but he is playing good defense out there. I cannot believe how much crap Ray takes from you guys. I would love it if he wasn't hurt either, but he IS hurt and even so he is pushing it on defense and helping keep this game going our way.
If the Celtics lose, it ain't gonna be Ray's fault.

True it is Docs fault for playing him too much hurt.
Boston has NO idea what to do when the Celtics double Pierce. This is a meltdown right now. It's been killing us this whole series them doubling and it's on Pierce for not splitting it or Doc for not making the adjustment.
Doc needs to call a timeout and come up with an adjustment.

The Celts are +12 with Ray in there (best on the team), and -11 without him in the game. The Sixers are going on a huge run without Ray in the game. It's very, very hard to pin this on Ray.
Bad third quarter. Lost the halftime lead.
Hollins in = Philly comeback.
Doc Rivers = clueless.
:-X Makes me sick, watching him make stupid decision after stupid decision. I thought it was the coaches job to put his team in a position to win?

Of course, it's a team game. But Ray has had the worst game of the C's starters.
Not his fault. He's playing on a bad wheel. But his underperformance combined with Bradley's absence has eliminated almost all the production at the 2-spot for this team.
Hollins in = Philly comeback.

4th quarter, game 7, in Boston... This game is ours!!!!
Philly came back because we cannot make a jump shot.
Which, one would think, would produce more dribble penetration.
Of course, as this series has shown, we don't think the game well enough to make that connection.
0-14 from three. :-X
Athleticism and no skill against skill and no athleticism.
the single biggest improvement the C;s have made in this game that's kept them ahead is the gang rebounding. many fewer offensive boards for Philly tonight
Hollins comes out the lead immediately balloons up to 7.That should be a sign to Doc.

I wish we would put the onus on the refs and just take it to the rim and absorb the contact......I mean I'm pretty sure well get the whistle but we aren't even giving ourselves a chance at the lineThis in spades. I've been begging for this all series.
Pierce I'm sure will do just this once he comes in
So nice to see that 3 go in. 1-15 is better than 0-14!
question is, are YOU watching? All C's are swarming the defensive boards this game. wasn't happening in this series until this game.the single biggest improvement the C;s have made in this game that's kept them ahead is the gang rebounding. many fewer offensive boards for Philly tonight

not hating on you either 'brah' but the point I'm making is that instead of just KG and sometimes Bass on the boards, they're all in there going for it and as a result Philly has gotten many less O boards than every other game this series.question is, are YOU watching? Not hating on you man but they're grabbing these boards by a thread, a la that Young FT almost getting knocked right back to him.
Allen gets worn out on this board, tonight without a shred of evidence, as Roy notes, and Rondo does no wrong. Ever.
Amazing.
It's so hard to admit, but as frustrating as this team is to watch, tonight has been about Philly just not giving up. The Celtics make a big shot, go on a small run, you think "ok, here comes what we've been waiting for"...and Philly comes right back with a basket or two of their own.
They're fighting. And if the Celtics aren't careful, they'll take this win right from underneath us.
Good God, I would have attacked Monty McCutcheon by now. That crook is trying to single-handedly keep Philly in the game.

EXACTLY!
Causing turnovers left and right and stalling the offense with his excessing dribbling
Not to mention his lack of a jumpshot makes the Sixers play 4 on 5

Judging by this series, maybe it's best we exit early rather than being completely outclassed by the likes of Miami.
We've lost the war of attrition.
-Jamman
as much as I'd hate to pull PP right now, it might be good for 2-3 minutes to keep him available for the end so he doesn't get knocked out on a stupid foul/bad calland there we go >:(

Yea it will get changed to a 2. But we still have a 7 point lead.
Hate to be Debbie downer but that's gonna be a 2. Hell of a shot though!
Big shot by Holiday, but this one is over.not yet Roy. need another stop
that might just do it. 2 FTs by KG and I'll feel much betterBig shot by Holiday, but this one is over.not yet Roy. need another stop

no matter what happens, this has been one of the best eras in Celtics basketball. I don't know what will happen, but I will always appreciate this team.
This kinda feels like.the moment the torch gets officially passed to Rondo. Love to see the kid step up.tp

KG totally lost the handle on that rebound on purpose, so Rondo could get it.

;D 6oclock in the morning and now Ican sleepTP and a cup of coffee...!!!
I actually never want to play Philly again. Ever. They're like a pitbull clamped on your calf.
Just an FYI, but Rondo's now one of 18 players in nba history with 750 assists and 500 rebounds in the playoffs. Also, in the Miami series, Pierce will become one of 21 players in history with 500 assists and 750 rebounds in the playoffs.
4 wins from the finals.only 8 from a title. Think big my man, think BIG 8)
I don't know how we'll do it, but where there's a will, there's a way.
Let's shock the world.

I think Philly should be proud. They gave a good account of themselves. Not their best, struggled too much offensively for that, but a good showing. One heck of a tough series. Their defense was very very good. Perimeter D was top notch.
Hopefully, it'll be another step up the ladder for them and they can build on this and make it to the next level over the next few years. I like that squad. I hope they continue to grow.

The ERA has been extended. At least 1 more series.
I think the key against Miami is to remember that we need 4 good games to take the Heat. We don't need 7 good games, only 4. We will look ugly at times, but we CAN pull this off.
Really proud of this team. That was my prediction at the start of the season, second round exit. I'm happy to report that this team has officially exceeded my expectations. :-)
Start of the season the average prediction seemed to be an exit in the second round. I bet the Heat aren't thinking we're going to be easy beats.

Ray Allen needs to be put out of his misery and write this season off until he gets surgery. DOC PLEASE PLAY PIETRUS! Ray is KILLING us not playing ANY D and can't be any wider open and is shooting straight bricks! SIT HIM DOWN!!

but to shock the world, C's would need to win the title. Beating Miami without Bosh, while it would be a major accomplishment, wouldn't shock the world but would at least make 99% of the sports prognosticators eat some crow.4 wins from the finals.only 8 from a title. Think big my man, think BIG 8)

I like to take it one series at a time.
