I got it in my top 2 with their only hope of realistically topping it any time soon coming from Lady Gaga. Nobody is gonna want to follow that except her.
-
I need the "didn't pay attention" selection.
-
Haha, I was expecting to come in here and defend it as 'average' against hoards of criticism.
I'd go as far as decent.

Yeah, it wasn't great, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Did anyone see MIA give her "crude jesture"? I missed that.
-
It was alright, I prefer real bands that actually sing their performances instead of lip syncing.
As for the crude gesture, meh not worth giving it two thoughts.

I found it to be pretty solid and the best in awhile. Even her new song wasn't that bad.

you mean like the Who?

To paraphrase Miss Piggy on Project Runway.....That was the most garish, ridiculous, over the top, absurd, self serving, self worshipping performance I've ever seen. I loved it!
-
Obvious lip-syncing from Madonna, and Cee Lo Green wore a huge trash bag. Possibly the worst halftime I've ever seen.
-
Ya, I'll go out there and say it was probably the worst I've seen. Some lo-lights:
- Madonna's heavily assisted cartwheels were pretty awkward
- Bringing out Edited. Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. was some pretty painful "Madonna's Still Got It!" pandering
- Tight rope guy looked like he has a pretty painful job
- Madonna's "new" song and gimmick is a pretty blatant Gwen Stefani rip off. Which puts her into perspective pretty well - Gwen Stefani hasn't been relevant in what, 8 years?
- I love Cee Lo Green and will defend anything he does to the death. So I won't comment on the final song.
-
There is no way Madonna could have danced the way she did and still be able to clearly sing; that's why these "pop" star types always use lipsynching for events such as this.
-
Its not lip synching. Its singing (at a low volume) against a backround track.
-
I've read it's not lip-syncing...
It's singing with your mic turned off.

Except when they want to awkwardly sing a..what's it called? Bravado? Extra long and pretend its improvisation? I don't know what its called, but except for then. Then they turn the mic on, to prove its not lip synching.
-
I thought it was pretty good actually. Never mind the lip-syncing. Otherwise, I thought it was pretty tight. I seen when Madonna nearly stumbled and saved herself but I missed the famous bird flipping. Madonna still looks decent for 53 and even if its assisted cartwheels, they looked pretty good to me.
Id say it was tons better than the absolutely painful showing the Who made. The effects-lighting was pretty amazing. The dancing was pretty solid and the sound system they used played good songs (heh).
I'd say it was better than the Black Eyed Peas. The main negative in my mind was the lip-syncing. Pop music is just a choreographed dance show these days.

I've seen an Andy Griffith episode with this same plot.
-
I thought it was a good show because, except for the first two minutes it didn't interupt the flow of conversation at the Super Bowl Party...everyone seemed to find the "ignore" button.
-
So in semi-unrelated news they said Gronk was partying wit Edited. Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. on stage dancing to party rock how ya'll pats fans feel bout tht??

At that type of event, isn't lip-syncing better?

I've never liked Madonna and her style of music, so it was pretty much utter garbage for me. Prince, to me, gave by far the best half-time performance I've seen. He tore it up on Purple Rain.

Prince was he best halftime show I've seen, and there isn't a close second.

Beyonce plagiarized Madonna and Madonna won

Yeah, nothing's come close to U2 at SB36 in my mind.
First Super Bowl after 9/11, "Where the Streets Have No Name" with the names of all the victims.
Just an incredible show.

agreed. has to be U2 for best halftime show
-
I agree Prince was great. I thought Madonna's was pretty lame. Beyonce was fantastic last night, though. U2 was excellent.

No it wasn't the best, I'll go with MJ in 1993, loved it! I mean, if we're talking about a SHOW, MJ put on the best show! I really like U2 but come on man... if not for the tribute, it's not memorable at all. Second was Prince, that was great! "hoo hoo hoo hoo"
