You have Stephen Graham's picture up there but you have Raja Bell's name still listed as the starter at SG.
Im kinda nervous of a let down game here. We are playing an inferrior team, at home the night after a road game in Charlottes season opener. I think they will be jacked up and we may be a little relaxed after last nights huge win.
Maybe that will keep their heads in tonights game, but I have my doubts. Especially considering how last season started off. A solid team win against the Cavs and then a unfocused loss to the Pacers.Im kinda nervous of a let down game here. Maybe if it wasnt the home opener. I feel they croud will get them jacked up.

It's not, they match up well with us. Gerald Wallace is always a pain for the C's. Though we'll see how their retooled line up does.Maybe that will keep their heads in tonights game, but I have my doubts. Especially considering how last season started off. And is it my imagination here or do the bobcats always seem to play us very tough?
I think the Celts will come out strong and really beat up the Bobcats. The saw the Lakers get their rings last night and the Big 3 walked by with a disgusted look on their faces. Celts are going to tear it up right away. Yes the Bobcats do play us tough but if we come out fire look out cause this one could be over very very fast! To bad i will miss it because i will be working 5-10, thinking about DVR but idk its like i will know the score when i get home.. Wonder if it will be the same? Has anyone else done it? How is it?
I don't want a Ray Allen last second shot tonight, i want total dominance. The combination of a win last night, and an explosive performance tonight will really send the message that we're here.
I'm excited. who's with me?
They just used my question on the pregame!!! WOOO WOOOOO!
Easy win, wheres the confidence yall???? We got this
i think boston comes out and destroys the bobcats...KG will be amped as will the garden
Rondo has established himself as a guard that opposing guards measure themselves to. He is no longer the guard measuring his ability to other guards.
Reposting what I posted in the comments on the front page under the front page game preview:
pre-game notes from Doc From Doc:
Scal will dress tonight but will not be playing. He is progressing but is still not ready to play, which is unfortunate becuase this is a perfect matchup for Scal. Last night, the Celtics would have went with Shelden regardless because the Cavs are so big
Big Baby- still has not addressed the team but according to Doc, “plenty of time for that”. Baby is not at the game tonight. Doc said he was dissapointed in Baby’s mistake but says hes still part of the team. also noted that parents get dissapointed with their kids sometimes, but they’re still part of the family. Baby is still part of their family. Has no idea what Baby’s fine is, or if there was one. He said he is no part of that and hasn’t had time to even think about it.
Had good words for Shelden. Find the player in him that was there in college. Great opportunity on this team. Starting to understand what is needed of him. Terrific elbow shooter and rebounder. Needs to learn the Celtic scheme (needs to be more of a help defender instead of sticking on his man)
Lineup at the end of the game last night, according to Doc is the best lineup at that time. Unless he needs Perk for defensive purposes. Also noted a three big guards lineup.
A lot of respect for Larry Brown as a coach. Notes how much attention to detail he gives to the point guard position. For anybody who didn’t know, Doc played for Larry Brown for a short time. He said he opened his eyes to the little things at the guard position.
Rondo has his hands full tonight with Felton and Augustine. Two different types of guards. Rondo has established himself as a guard that opposing guards measure themselves to. He is no longer the guard measuring his ability to other guards.

So, what I want to know is, where's Michael Jordan for his team's opener? Playing golf in Vegas?

TP for you but apparently this only works in the US so it is too good to be true for me

Showing 'toine how to play blackjack?
Look at that replay on the Rondo shooting form. Elbow close to the body, not flapping out, good release at the top of the jump, fluid. He's done some work.

I really like the energy defensively, contesting everything. No easy shots, even after a defensive mistake.
Very much like the championship team.

Don't care Donnie Wahlberg, Don't care.
Cleveland is getting hammered. So much for Shaq guaranteeing a championship.

I was picturing the same thing.
In reality it would be him going from fat to muscular.
I'll be surprised if the Raptors hold on to win. I don't know if its conditioning or what but in the preseason they always faded away as the second half went on.
Spurs are looking very nice. I like their frontcourt much better this year.
Magic/Sixers score is just sad
Tommy you can't complain about only three free throws in the half if your team is having 45% of their shots come from the three point line.

Get Ray some rest this half, guys. Blow 'em out in the 3rd and make it a joke game.Ray will get rest when they blow the Cats out in thrid quarter. Then Giddens can actually try to put up some numbers in his stat line other than zeroes and minus numbers in the +/- stat
Cavs making a comeback. Meh.
Love that possession/move/shot by Ray.
TP USG. Must have missed that. I walked in from a run to the fridge mid complaint.Tommy you can't complain about only three free throws in the half if your team is having 45% of their shots come from the three point line.
That's the point. He wants them to be more aggressive. He's not complaining about the refs, he's complaining about the team's offensive approach.
lester hudson tonight?
Maybe it's not a bad thing that we're shooting so many threes (if it's working). If we can beat Charlotte without physically beating ourselves up, then why not?Sets a bad mindset. Sets a bad precedent. Never want that.

HAHAHAH the little kid that gave Chandler the towel was in an Okafor jersey, and Tyson looked so discouraged.
man, perk doesn't have to do ANYTHING for a tech, meanwhile certain players (some of ours included) can go to the absolute limit and not get the whistle.

Perk got another tech for looking at someone. haha
cavs now down by 11 in 4th...lebron in hero mode
Really, really hard to find anything to fuss about in this game. Really encouraged by the focus, the defensive intensity, the ball movement, the decision-making from the point, etc.

YOU KNOW....sheldon isn't as bad as i thought he was going to be..he actually gives boston some decent minutes
All we're gonna need from Williams is defense and some glass - and he's very capable of delivering all of that and a little offense to boot. Smart basketball player, and there's always room for one of those on this basketball team. He's a Dukie. There all smart...if not great professional basketball players.
i expect the cavs to panic and make a move to get someone they think can give them some help
Ray Allen is STILL in the game?!

Ray Allen is STILL in the game?!
My thoughts exactly, it's not necessary!
Unless no more morning shoot arounds and the extra sleep really has transformed Ray into a 25 year old.
I think Williams is the BBD replacement we have been looking for.
Lester has already accomplished more in his NBA career than I expected out of him when he was drafted.

Giddens must be in Doc's seriously deep doghouse if when Marquis and Pierce were in major foul trouble he could only muster 2 minutes and then the C's are blowing out a team by 30 entering the 4th and Doc would rather play Ray 40 minutes than Giddens even one.
We're really going to start complaining about long minutes after 2 games????Ray Allen is STILL in the game?!

If Ray's tired he'll let the boss know. 40 minutes per for the first two games when their defacto 3, Scal, is unavailable is okay by me. No big deal.
AIRBALL. JR. Followed by a foul out of frustration. He's pitiful.
Giddens is just all over the place. I'm surprised he isn't called for travel a lot more, he shuffles his feet before putting the ball down quite a bit.
Lester looks good. Seems to be in control, and really seems to put in an effort on hounding his man on defense.
My fear is that JR is just TA with elite rebounding abilities for a guard. I hate seeing him fly through the air trying to block jump shots.

Agreed. I've been happy with what Williams brings to the floor inside. He's earning minutes, not losing them.
Why the eye roll. He airballed the ball on an overshoot by a clear 18 inches then when flying out of control and picked up a foul and then had a stiff go by him for a layup like he wasn't even there.AIRBALL. JR. Followed by a foul out of frustration. He's pitiful.
I wouldn't go that far... ::)
Sheldon is looking better and better by the minute.
The pass, Lester made to Williams, is a tough angle. Very impressive. :)
Cleveland loses.
ha!

This will shock some people... but Tony is quite a bit better than J.R. I wonder a bit if Tony is J.R.'s upside. A scary thought, I know.

Well, we can quibble about what's right and what's wrong, but Scal played pretty well last playoffs and I don't expect Doc to let Sheldon displace him on the depth chart unless he dramatically outplays Scal.
Plus, I think Scal is closer to Baby in terms of offensive game than Shelden. It might be better for preparing the team for what's eventually going to happen come playoff time (when neither Scal nor Shelden is going to get off the bench).

Wow. Since when are the celtics so concerned about offense? How about baby doesn't rebound well. When you look at the fourth big on an NBA team, I would rather a player that rebounds and defends than someone with good offense (if you call an average jumper and good foot work good offense).

+1. We have enough scorers. Everyone can't be a gunner. We need role players on the 2nd unit and I would prefer a body that's going to bang, board, guard bigs and hustle. Sheed is already outside most of the time. If Shelly keeps playing the way he is, he's going to be hard to take out of the rotation.

well i didnt get to watch the game coz they didnt show it on tv here. i followed it through cb and the box scores though
The only complaint I have: 38 minutes for Ray Allen?! Doc did a good job with KG and Pierce, but definately needed to get Ray Allen off the floor when they were up big in the third.
I think the point is that neither should be on the court for that length of time during a blowout of this magnitude. Starters could have been on the bench with 3-4 minutes left in the 3rd. Game was well out of reach for Charlotte at that point. The only complaint I have: 38 minutes for Ray Allen?! I think Doc will alternate Pierce and Allen in games like this. Excpect Allen to be rested and Paul on the floor next blow-out.

I'm fine with it, really. I think the FCC is far too uptight with what they allow on TV and what they don't. Words don't bother me, I could understand parents with small children, but then again they allow gore and blood on primetime.
It's an interesting world we live in.
Love that reverse slam by Perk ... finally getting up in the air ... sweet play, too - from Rondo to KG to Rondo to Perk ... love that stuff! That's what can happen when Rage is being aggressive and attacking!
Perk is much more at ease this year, too ... not that deep scowl on his face all the time ... I think he's really matured over the summer, and losing weight was huge in his physical development ... he's moving his feet better, getting in the air more, getting more blocks on defense, passing better, and not needing to put the ball on the floor before laying it up every time.

Perk is much more at ease this year, too ... not that deep scowl on his face all the time ... I hope so ... I'm getting married soon! ;) (The first time was rather the opposite, haha). But Perk does seem to be loving it!

I'm acclimating her to it slowly, but she's at that point where the reality of it is sinking in ... statements like: "Wow ... you really DO love the Celtics, don't you?" and: "You and sports ... you're really addicted, huh?" ... but she says she wants to learn so she can enjoy it with me ... which would be great, but I think it's wishful thinking on her part. I give her credit for wanting to try, though ... and you never know ... she's filipina and basketball is huge over there! ;)

Well, there was that immature stare down last night, but in his defense, Chandler was crying like a little child that needed an adult stare down. ;)
Gotta think that that T Perk got last night should be reversed though. He didn't say a thing. He just stared at Chandler and once again got a T for looking "mean" at a person. Where is Tim Donaghy doing color for TNT to explain this stuff to us anyway?Perk is much more at ease this year, too ... not that deep scowl on his face all the time ... Oh, I don't imagine for an instant that we've seen the last of that stuff, but he's definitely made steps in the right direction. Man - summer of 2008 I was ready to get rid of him ... he's come a long way! I imagine he'll still be near the top of the "T" list, though! ;)
We're going to lead the league in technicals, and it won't even be close.
Did anyone catch the comment Tommy made on T.Chandler?!?!?!
"He should have go to collage so he could learn to count to 3"
That was a harsh thing to say after Chandler got called for a offensive 3 seconds.

Not to mention his semi-shove of Gerald Wallace when he landed on the broadcast table. ;D
But we play defense. We're going to lead the league in technicals, and it won't even be close.
Haha, yeah no question.
I also want to chime in to say that I freaking love this team. What a starting line up! What a bench! Looks like we have an all star team on the floor.
Gonna be a fun year! Go Celtics!!
