Title: How good does Dwayne Wade look?
Post by: WBrownTrophy on August 14, 2008, 09:55:13 AM
After seeing USA's win over Greece this morning, it is apparent that Dwayne Wade is back, just about at 100%. He looked scary good at times and he even played superb defense. If he plays this well for Miami, it could do wonders for the Heat. We will have to see if the Heat will be a team to worry about at all in the East.

He looks great, but he'll probably get injured again during the season.  He always does.

they have a 2-3-4 of Wade, Marion and Beasley WOW. If they can get a pg to run they could score a lot of points.

Before I give Wade the seal of approval, he needs to do these things against NBA teams...not these overrated Euro teams.

;D You mean Wade might be willing to grace us NBA fans with his presence?  Not very likely unless he finds another Shaq to carpetbag.  (Blount?)

If the Heat at any point in the season are under .500 Wade is going to do one of his patented flailings into the stantion when untouched and be out for the season.

Another prissyboy who plays when he feels like it.

dwade has looked amazing.  however, i think he is extremely driven and hungry.  he is finally healthy and wants to send a message that he is back. wade himself reported feeling dissed that people "forgot" about him this season.  i will be interested in seeing him for the entire nba season tho.

People forgot about him last year for the same reason they forgot about Pierce the season before.

Wade will not play a full season until the Heat are championship contenders again.  Until then, he'll be flopping and sitting out like he always does.

He looks like the third/forth best swingman he can be in the NBA.

The problem is the way he plays, the hits he takes, I can't imagine him going more then one season and postseason following the Olympics before he is hurt again.  He needs to learn how to play where he can avoid some contact while still being a threat.

Good point wdleehi, but for Wade to do that he has to develop a jump shot. He also is not a three point shooter witch will hurt him. In my opinion Wade is overrated.

Wade's problem is that he's a drama queen on the court.  He gets fouled and he flies into the stantion or flops violently.  He hurts himself more trying to sell fouls than the opponent hurts him fouling him.

I join in the overrated crowd.  Wade may be able to carry a team but the team would have to have a Shaq-type on it.

Wow...  Very harsh.   He looks very good and he is very good.  I would take him on the Celtic's roster in a New York minute.  If the reports of him spending considerable time in the weight room are accurate I would expect his durability to improve.  He will also learn to pick his spots more as he matures.  The kid can flat out play.

Don't understand all the D-wade hate.  The Heag are a PG and/or big man away from contending in the East.  I don't see them as a top 4 eastern team but I could see them as a 7/8 seed.

It is nice to see him back from his injury, but I am not sure why people think he has been that impressive. All I have seen him do is finish wide open dunks on the break. His defense has been decent, although always against much lower quality players, and he has picked a few pockets resulting in dunks. He cherry picks  as well, so when someone else steals the ball he is ahead on the break for an easy one. I haven't seen him do anything THAT exciting. He does look like he has gotten his elevation back though so I am sure it won't be long before he returns to form. I'll wait until I see him do this in the NBA before I declare him back...
