Title: The Unofficial Celtics Offseason Priority Thread
Post by: kw10 on July 04, 2008, 12:45:10 AM
If I were Danny Ainge, this would be the order of what I'm looking at:

1) Re-sign James Posey (he is just too important for us, his defence and  timely 3s~ I cannot see another free agent out there as capable as he is)

2) Sign a big man along the lines of Kurt Thomas- a defensive veteran big (and the Birdman is not one of them, although he might be enough to fill the void left by PJ)

3) Re-sign Eddie House (he simply was a great fit IMO)

Of course, as you can see, I'm trying to keep the same structure as the team past season, as they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

And our lack of athleticism is solved by our rookies IMO.

People don't seem to get that we got James Posey on a sweetheart deal last year, one that was too good to pass up.

Resigning him is going to take 4 years and almost 6 million per

This is the same guy that was banished from the Miami Heat for being out of condition. 2-3 years is much more realistic. He's 31 too and relies greatly on his athleticism. Wonder how much of that athleticism is going to be left at 34.

Am I the only one who thinks Kurt Thomas is 6'8?
