  • Yup
I would have guessed she was older than 76.  A truly powerful performer.  Her scene in the Blues Brother movie immediately comes to mind this morning.

RIP

we mustn't forget the "King of Blues" Robert Johnson.  He greatly influenced many future great musicians, including Elvis.

Loved her voice. RIP.

tbh she's been around for so long that I thought she was much older. Loved her short appearance in The Blues Brothers.

Unbelievable voice esp in her youth.  Aretha absolutely on the short list of all-time greats.  So sad that she’s gone.

Read a little of her history - I never knew she had kids at 12 and 14 (not typos).  Sang at MLK's funeral and Obama's inauguration. What an incredible life.
