  • Celtic's only raise championship Banners
I would have said Horford had he made it his job to demand the ball in the post (post up Lopez/other bigs) and get the in foul trouble early on....we really need him to do that with Washington
Get 2 fouls on Gortat in the 1st.

Brad Stevens

Gutsy decision by him to insert Gerald Green in game 3.

GG went on to help us in every game after that.

Popovichian move IMO.

Hard to say. They all did their job.

IT going threw what he is to keep play was huge.

Horford played really well, did a little of everything.

AB played amazing D on Butler.

We don't win with out any of them doing what they did.

I think Smart/KO/Green also should get some props. They all had great stretches of really good playing.

Yeah, I thought Stevens grew as a coach this series. I don't know if DA talked about coaching playoff vs reg season, but he really tightened up the rotation, and let guys play longer. Putting in Green was a slick move. But when you think about it, it make sense. Amir was garbage, and Green brought energy.

Horford. Dominated the stat sheets. Doesn't get the credit he deserves because he filled up the stats sheet and is so low key. AB 2nd star for his work on both ends of the floor against Butler.

Shout out to KO, especially, and Rozier.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I would give Co MVP to IT and Horford.
Both were outstanding. IT's turnovers and transition 3's were just awful, as was his D at times, but he was the reason we won game 4, his determination and grit pulled us through when his baby sister just passed.
He's an absolute warrior.

Horford was just as important to our success. He busted his ass making tough plays on both ends, rebounding with aggression, shooting well from deep and setting hard screens and playing physically yet smartly.

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

edit: I also think Bradley and Green deserve special mention.

Olynyk, Rozier and Jerebeko were all VERY good too.

We are looking good going into a 7 game series with Washington.

Agreed on all counts.  Early on, I picked the Celts in 7 vs. Washington with some college friends from NY that struggle dealing with their teams' struggles...

I'd say IT (despite his tendency to shoot bad threes and miss almost all of them) since he got us back in games 3 and 4 and was huge during the decisive stretch of game 5 when Chicago was leading.

Then, overall, Bradley for his great defense and reliable shooting.
